Trust the System!

Don't give in to despair if you don't see a drop in your weight after several days of stringent calorie counting. Bodies are weird--weight loss is not a straightforward mathematical process. If you're being honest and tracking well, you *will* see results!

Create a "wiggle-room meal" when tracking calories!

I eat a big or small breakfast based on how hungry I am in the morning, and I track it. Then, still in the morning, I enter what I'm planning to have for dinner, and then I enter an evening snack. Lunch is my "wiggle room." I can go big or small, depending on how many calories I have left.

Give Yourself a Break!

Careful calorie measuring and tracking is key, but so is letting yourself eat for enjoyment once in a while. Take a day or two a month, or every two weeks, and don't track your food. Don't binge on purpose, but go ahead and eat something you might otherwise not.
