Eliminate Your Cravings
I look at my healthy eating habits as a committed lifestyle change. The only thing that has worked for me is thinking of certain foods from an addiction perspective. Just as an alcoholic in recovery can't have a sip of alcohol, I believe certain foods are addicting to me, & therefore, I can't have them. Once I put a bite of those addicting foods into my mouth, it triggers my desire for more & I go into a downward spiral. Just "say no" and eat only foods that you know won't trigger a craving.
Working Out is a Privilege
I have a post-it note on my mirror that says "Working out is a privilege." It motivates me to exercise and reminds me that I am fortunate to have the ability and opportunity to work out on a regular basis.
Spin the Wheel
Spin the Spark Wheel first thing in the morning. It's a great way to start the day!
Smile while working out! It increases your endorphins and makes exercise more enjoyable.
I love Luna Bars! Each one is 170-190 calories and packed with vitamins and protein. They come in a variety of delicious flavors including ones that are dipped in chocolate and iced! A perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth :)
Get Back Up Again
“If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
At the end of the day, write down 3 things you are thankful for. A gratitude journal really helps you see the positives and appreciate the many blessings in your life.
Early to Bed
Night eating is a major temptation for a lot of people. Instead of sitting around & engaging in mindless eating, go to bed early. You can't eat if you're sleeping and a good night's sleep decreases your appetite!
Research the Menu
If you know you are going out to eat, research the menu ahead of time. Most chains post their nutrition information online now. Plan your meal before you go & stick to it!
