Since it's just me and hubby at home; making large salads sometimes meant waste. Now, I cut up all the ingredients (spinach, jicama, cucumbers, sun dried tomatoes, baby corn, garbanzo beans, snap peas, etc.) and stack them in separate containers in the fridge. It's our "personal salad bar."
Simple everyday stuff to do...we all know them; I just have to remind myself to DO them.
Sounds silly, I know, but I really do use smaller plates and utensils to eat. Slows me down..and makes it look like I'm getting bigger bites and more food! Hubby always uses a dinner plate, I use a luncheon sized plates. I use salad forks and small teaspoons for everything.
