Nothing wrong with a small punishments when you've deviated from the plan.

I know were all about rewarding ourselves for the good, but we know a good stern talking to, grouding or punishment has taught us a lesson or 2 in the past. When i get to my nutrition feedback at the end of the day, and I have no calorie deficit because i ate 4 cookies instead of 1, I make myself drop and give me 30 pushups (or whatever hurts, used to be 10, but i'm stronger now). I hate them, I really do, and the next day when my arms are aching, I skip the cookies

A Protein Bar Can Save Your Day

Keeping a protein bar with you can keep you from getting too hungry or resorting to fast food if you have a delay when you're traveling or running errands. It buys you time so you can make a rational decision about your next meal. Better to eat the protein bar and risk going over by 100 calories than to make a hasty food decision that could cost you 800! If I'm traveling with a friend I bring an extra for my friend, too. You never know when you'll need it, and they're always glad you did.

Visual Motivation in a Jar!

Keep a clear glass jar somewhere you see it all the time and put in it a penny for every 1lb of weight you lose. Seeing number of pennies in the jar growing is excellent motivation, just be sure to take them out if you gain - not wanting to remove any pennies is a great way to keep yourself on track!

Drinking Water

How to get enough water and not feel overwhelmed by the felling of constantly drinking.
Purchase of a REUSABLE BPA free plastic cup with straw and screw on lid.
I have found that by drinking out of a straw I now consume more water evenly throughout the day. Thanks Straw

Clear your mind

Everyday I try to go out for just a half an hour walk. Doesn't matter if it's outside or on the treadmill. It's a great way for me to clear my mind and not worry about anything but enjoying my walk.

Exercise bike first thing in the morning

I ride my exercise bike (and read a book) for 10 minutes every morning before my shower. It gets my heart pumping, and gets my knees moving so I can begin my day.

" I need nutrition."

Cheesy, I know, but instead of telling myself that I'm hungry, I try to tell myself "I need nutrition". I can ask myself "Do I need nutrition, or am I just feeling snacky?" It kind of discounts food as a "treat" and makes me think of it more as simply a neccessity for living.

Weight Loss Shakes

If you plan to go out to dinner with your spouse, try eating yogurt for breakfast and a weight loss shake for lunch. You don't use a lot of calories and you can enjoy your evening out without going over your daily allowance of calories. I do this at least once a week and I'm losing a pound a week.

It's ok to sweat

Learn to love sweating. Every time you start sweating, imagine each drop of sweat as another pound being lost.
