Coffee in the afternoon

I find that drinking a cup of coffee about 1:30 - 2:00 in the afternoon keeps me from feeling so hungry. It's almost like a little snack. It gives me a boost of energy too, which I think keeps me from feeling like I want to eat.

Low Fat Ground Beef

Use a plastic collander in a microwave safe plate to cook your ground beef. Cook 1 minute at a time and stir and break up chunks after each minute. After it is cooked all the fat will be in the plate and you can put the meat in a skillet to brown it.

Do it the Old Fashioned Way!

Sweep the patio instead of using the blower, sweep the kitchen instead of using the vacuum, wash dishes by hand instead of using the dishwasher, cook from scratch. All these things will burn more calories and are good for the environment too!

Wear a step counter/pedomet
er

I have found since I began wearing a step counter that I do move around more. I make extra trips, take the long way, etc. Yesterday I made 19,000 steps, including my workout. I think I have finally broken through my plateau and begun moving in the right direction again.

Side steps

Anytime I am doing an activity where I would normally stand in one place for several minutes, such as drying my hair, brushing my teeth, washing dishes, I do side steps. I wear a step counter and I can add hundreds of steps to my day!

Chocolate Almond Butter

Chocolate Almond Butter is delicious and only 180 calories for 2 tablespoons. Most peanut butter is around 200 calories for 2 tablespoons. This will definately take care of any chocolate craving you have! emoticon

Salad Dressing Secret

When ever I eat salad I ask for the dressing on the side. Then I dip my fork in the dressing and then take a bite of salad. When I am through I have used only a small fraction of the dressing, but I still get the dressing taste with every bite and I don't feel I have missed out on anything.
