Bod4God

There is a wonderful book that Christians who want to live healthy should definitely read. It is titled "Bod4God" by Steve Reynolds. It addresses the spiritual aspect of living healthy for God. I have found it to be wonderfully inspiring and yet practical. Pastor Reynolds has lost well over 100 lbs. and he leads a dynamic church in Virginia.

Losing2Live

I have recently joined a weight loss challenge at my church in Annandale Va. It is called "losing to live". We weigh in every week and get together in small group to discuss the spiritual side of losing weight. In 2 weeks I have lost 11 lbs. We address the eating and exercise part of living healthy but we also talk about our relationship with God and how that is crucial in losing weight. Email me and I'll tell you more.

Use a phone book (or two) as a step

Lay the biggest book you can find on the office floor and do 3 sets of 15 steps. Easy and quick. If you want more, hold something (less than 10 pounds) in each hand and when you step up raise them up over Your head.

Today I did my first 5K!

I decided I had to find a challenge. I looked at one of my teams and found they were taking part in a 5K in Washington DC. I dug deep inside and joined them.
It was WONDERFUL!

Make up portions ahead of time.

Once a week ( for me, usually on Sunday) I prepare foods for the week. I can measure and weigh a weeks worth and put them in individual packets. This keeps me from deceiving myself on size.
I even make up one person servings for dinner since I eat alone. emoticon

I take pictures from Sparkpeople to the gym

When I look at workouts or pictures of an exercise I haven't tried, I take it with me when I go to the gym.

Personal Trainer

I know, I know!! Personal trainers are expensive. I am fortunate enough to be able to fit the cost into my budget even though it is difficult. But I honestly believe that if it were not for Rachel, I would probably not have learned to love exercise. I look forward to our time together.
Also, and
