French fries drip in ketchup or baked potato with butter or sour cream? My advice choose the baked potato over fried potato. Then try dipping the cut up pieces of the baked potato into ketchup instead of sour cream of butter. You save on fat calories and you are eating healthier by choosing the bake over the fried food! For me this stops the craving for french fries!
I love the holidays but even I get depress with the rude crowds, thinking of loved ones passed on, if getting together with family/friends is possible. I find that the best way to fight the blues is to spread some joy myself. Smile at people, plan a coffee/workout date, call people you have not heard from in awhile. Spread cheer anyway you can. Why? Because happiness is contagious! Leaving you in high spirits!!!
When you feel your just not up to doing your exercise routine, staying with you nutrition or just feel plain blah! I found that it is usually because I can't get negative thoughts out of my mind. I feel overwhelmed. Since SP I been writing down (Blogging) how I feel not always pertaining to nutrition or exercising but whatever is taking my focus away. After I blog I feel much better. It is like having a virtual friend to talk with. And the feedback is positive like a virtual hug!
I enjoy watching T.V. and usually rather watch a show than exercise for an hour. However if you can do crunches, jump rope, bicep curls and stretching during commercials. A different exercise for each commercial break as many set you can do while staying in proper form. You won't miss your shows and you won't feel the agony of exercising you just got in! And no guilt for watching T.V.!
On holidays, at parties etc...If it is a pot luck buffet style occasion: First, take a regular size plate. Next, look to see what you crave most. Then take one serving size spoonful to place food on your plate. Make sure NOT any of the foods you choose are touching. The space between foods helps with portion control. This also forces you to choose only your favorite foods. Which will keep your cravings at bay. .
In stead of throwing out stale Italian or French bread. Try spraying water lightly over loaf. Cut open and once again spray water lightly over the inside of loaf. Then warm in toaster oven at a light toast setting. Unless you want it toasted then choose the setting of your choice.
