Each night before bed, my family spends a few minutes cleaning or straightening something in the house. Sometimes papers get filed, sometimes dishes get washed, sometimes a load of laundry goes in. Now my cleaning time is cut down because each day I spend less than 30 minutes doing some cleaning!
Don't try to overhaul your entire life in one day. Choose a new plan or two every week until your lifestyle slowly becomes healthy. Choose simple things first, like drinking 8 cups of water, but then work up to bigger changes, like running 2 miles every other morning! It really works!
I got into the habit of keeping a spending log for each month, recording what I spent, when, where, what was purchased, a category, etc in a spreadsheet-type document. Knowing that I would have to go home and fill out ALL that information kept me from spending money on things I didn't really need!
