Food tracking can be tedious and time consuming, so I find it helps me stay on track if I track my food a week ahead. I plan my menus and write up my grocery list every weekend anyway, so while I'm at it, I fill out my SP logs for the week. During the week, I only need to track my water and make minor modifications as they come up. Also, once it's out there, I seem more likely to stick to it!
I love to bake, so a few years ago I bought a 1-oz cookie dough scoop to make baking cookies easier. Now I use it for ice cream portion control. A half-cup serving is 4 scoops so the kids and I feel like we're really indulging when we're actually exercising moderation!
I'm an ice chewer. I discovered that I consume MUCH more water, more easily when I switched from my 80 oz. jug to the 16-oz. cups @ work that I fill about 2/3 with the chewing-friendly, porous cylindrical ice the machine @ work spits out (and top off with H20). Plus I get in extra exercise walking across the building for refills 5+ times a day.
