Have an accountability partner. I have a friend that I text every morning when I finish my workout and so does she. We can't work out together but knowing that the other worked out gives us the motivation to do it ourselves.
So often we spend much of our time and energy doing for others. We need to remember to always take time for ourselves. If we don't, we'll run out of gas. It doesn't have to be hours. A soak in the tub or a short walk often gives us time to refuel our own tanks!
I live in SW Colorado and one town, Dove Creek, is the Pinto Bean Capitol of the World. Cook with carrots to reduce the "bad effects of beans." You can use for veggie taco salads; poured over a whole wheat tortilla with low fat cheese and lettuce; or serve as a side dish, etc. Cook for two hours with garlic, onions, cumin, red pepper flakes, etc. Serve with rice for a complete protein.
I always add 2.5 ounces of fresh spinach per serving to the boiling water the last minute of cooking my pasta. Adds another extra serving of veggies, gives you tons of fiber , and all of the other good stuff that spinach has. Best of all you can't really tell its there or taste it! My kids eat it up!
i have been cutting up peaches and bananas into bite size chunks and freezing them on a cookie tray so they stay individual, also grapes and cherries. When put into plastic containers or small ziplock bags they stay apart allowing you to take out however many pieces of a fruit you want... to snack on (allows for easy tracking), for quick access and is great for smoothies and when blended with a little cottage cheese or yogourt, tastes just like icecream/sherbet.
I Love It ! ! ! It's now the time to start cleaning out the garden, pulling out plants, planting fall crops, or planting something to energize your garden for next year.
