Never more than 7

I lost 110 lbs maintaining that within 7 pounds now for 4 months. If the scale creeps higher than that, I quickly review my food intake and my exercise workouts. Did my treats become cheats? Did my workout get lax? I check off my water, my food, and my exercise to reinstate the success I know. emoticon

Start a Neighborhood Walk

Invite a neighbor to walk, then another one. Over a year, 4 are regular walkers/joggers and one comes along as often as possible. Great fun, conversation, sharing of funny days and troubled moments -now really close friends! And we get the exercise in without knowing it! emoticon emoticon

Quick Protein Breakfast

Protein breakfast = eggs. For ease of the morning rush, I boil eggs the night before and remove shell. I do 6 at a time in order to have 3 days worth. I then take 2 to work, put in the microwave for 15 seconds to warm them up. Just perfect with my cup of decaf coffee! 156 calories/12 g protein.

Almond Accents

Adding Almond Accents to a salad gives extra crunch, protein, and a little "sweet" taste, especially the butter toffee glazed. 1 Tablespoon=40 calories, 2 g Carbs, 3 g Total Fat, and 1 g protein! When in a pinch, I've also used them as a snack! Yummy!

Planks and Side Planks

If you haven't done your planks lately, get back to it! It makes a difference in your core, which strengthens your back. Side planks work on your obliques. Held side planks recently for 45 sec 2 times each side. WOW! Did I feel the results the next day! Reminder to do these more often!

Sweeten your Protein Drink

I now add 2 or 3 drops of liquid Stevia to my vanilla flavored Jarrow protein drink. Adds just enough sweet taste without the calories or carbs of fruits. Liquid stevia also comes in flavors. Great way to start my morning before or after I work out!

Vacation Plan

Don't let a vacation keep you from eating healthy and working out. I plan my workouts even while on a cruise recently. I felt so much better knowing my food choices were a little "richer" than normal yet within my healthy guidelines. Another victory for a healthy lifestyle change!

Flooding Waters/Rescues/

Nashville, TN experienced a flood of epic tragedy and destruction last week. Rescued by boat and now working on restoration of my daughter's home, normalcy, and mental health I find that my life change of healthy eating and exercise are tools that will get me thru this difficulty! emoticon emoticon
