Zesty dressing ideas

I have found 2 healthy dressings to use on salad, veggies, and even fruit.

#1 - Flaxseed oil + Apple Cider Vinegar+ your favourite spices (I tend to use garlic, ginger, chilli flakes, and lime)

#2 - Greek Yoghurt can be used as sour cream or
mix some with lime juice and garlic...just a tablespoon is plenty! Really YUM! OR
Blend some Greek Yoghurt with strawberries or raspberries with Stevia and cinnamon and use for fruit...

Organize For Success

I invest some time once a week to plan meals for the week ahead. Then the grocery list will be done, and when I get home from the store, I immediately enter any new food items I purchased into my favourites...that way I don't have to worry about it later or when I'm away from home and use my iPhone App. I also bag everything into 1 servings or into containers from Fit N Fresh. I love them!!! It's SOOO worth it to take some time to get it sorted.

Portion Control Trick

There are plates that are smaller than the normal dinner plate and bigger than a small plate. We have one. I use it. When the plate is smaller, it looks fuller with lots less food. I also teach clients that 1/2 the plate should be green veggies, 1/4 protein (size of a deck of cards), and 1/4 Carb (1 potato/1 cup pasta) It's a great system especially if you are away from home and need some feeling of control

Erase a Bad Day

I have personally found (and have witnessed in my clients) that after a day where you either had little control over what you ate, or a day of celebrating and maybe indulging, that 3 things can erase your boo-boos quickly - Drink lots of water, eat lots of green veggies, and get moving! It's amazing how fast it works! Of course making sure you're taking your required vitamins and minerals and fibre as well! :) Easy Peasy! emoticon

Green Veggies + Water + Moving = EASY weight loss

I have done ALL the programs out there and what I know to be true is that the more non-starchy veggies you eat, water you drive, and minutes you move...the quicker the weight comes off and the easier it is to maintain! Try and incorporate veggies in each meal, set yourself a water goal throughout the day - I use to say if I had it in by 4 PM I could have a herbal iced tea...even though it's healthy...it's not water! and of course schedule your activity! Promise the dog a walk! Guilt gets me!
