Calorie Intake

I went from eating a lot of deep fried food to a healthy diet and no deep fried foods. My main success is counting calories. I limited myself to a 1200 calorie intake a day for 30 days. I made sure I took vitamins and supplements. I felt a lot better in 10 days after I started.

managing calories is like managing the checkbook, but better!

I have to say that I am less hungary then my pre-diet days. I started 1-Jan and have lost 18 lbs. Key is positive mindset. I wake up everday with 1600-1900 calories to 'spend'. If I need more, then I go have a great workout. Hard work pays off!

Chocolate is my downfall. I've found a way to satisfy my craving without breaking down... Trident Chocolate Mint gum. Sugar free, burst of chocolate and the mint keeps my tummy happy.

When to weigh

Weigh yourself once a week and make it every Monday morning. You are less likely to blow it on the weekend when you know you have worked so hard all week and Monday morning is the weigh-in.

Wait & See Approach

If I feel like snacking I chew some gum first, it usually squashes the craving, then I try drinking water. Sometimes I'm just thirsty or feel the need to chew and it turns off the cravings!!! If I still feel hungry down the road then I will grab a snack but I usually wait and see first -- IT WORKS!
