What I'm learning on my journey

Eat to live. Don't live to eat. Don't deprive yourself. Moderation is the key (except when it comes to fruits and veggies: the more the better). Drink at least 8 8 oz glasses of water. Exercise on a regular basis even if for only 20 min.

Plan wayyy ahead!

When you know you will be going out to eat, plan what you will have before you leave the house. I go online or find calories on my cell phone applications when I know I am going to a certain restaurant. This helps make the best choice, and doesn't allow you to be tempted by poor menu options!

Really pay attention to your food when you eat!

Do you really think about & experience your food when you eat? When I started to focus on the food I often found I wasn't really enjoying certain things that I "loved." Sometimes we convince our selves we like something more than we do!This helped me to give things up without feeling deprived.

Making the sweet tooth mind

Keep it OUT of the house!

My family and even my secret pal have sent candy in the mail on holidays. I have learned to get rid of it and not keep it in the house! I don't buy candy,cookies,cakes,pies,doughnuts,unhealthy snack foods because I will eat them all up all at once!
