Water = important regardless if u r losing weight or not. Keep getting messages that cold water = better. Well it = a myth. Water IS just water & the difference in the caloric burn between drinking ice cold water and other temps = infinitesimally small. A few steps xtra on treadmill has same effect!
When I go out to eat I don't always think about the best option on the menu, but I found that if I split what is on my plate evenly in half and putting it in a to- go container, not only do I eat half as much but i also eat slower and get fuller much faster. Not to mention I have a meal for tomorrow!
I pay myself the target amount of calories for the day when I wake up in the morning. Then I spend them as if they were money. For example i have 1500 calories grape fruit = 75 calories for breakfast that leaves me with 1425 calories to spend on lunch and dinner.
I found if I didnt have my meals prepared and ready for me to take with me to work I would make hazardous choices ( I would often later regret). They keep telling us and its definitley true...be prepared and you will definitley succeed!
I have found that one of the keys for me to continue to lose weight is to make sure I do something that makes me sweat every day. Whether it's a formal workout, cleaning house, doing yard work, or something else, getting my body moving long enough and hard enough to sweat helps!
I live a little over a mile from the grocery store, so when I need just one or two light items, I walk instead of driving!
I have lost 40 pound over the last year by tracking my food and exercise activities. This allowed me to see everyday that I was doing the right things to achieve my goal. It also helped me to learn how to make the right choices about what I eat. So TRACK YOUR PROGRESS! It will help!

Everything in moderation.
Put a serving of whatever you are eating on your plate and close up any boxes, bags, bowls or other containers and put them away immediately. It's too easy to pick at it or worse yet decide on another whole serving if it is left sitting in front of you on the table.
