As I began SP and I had to track everything into my "cupboard" in the early days,it was NOT the most HEALTHY!!!! But as I got used to tracking over the months and it became a USEFUL ,but TIME-CONSUMING and NECESSARY HABIT,I saw my food CHOICES start to CHANGE! I was actually EATING HEALTHIER ....

low cal "Carriers" instead of Pasta or Rice

Do you have a nice, low calorie recipe for a stew, chili, saucy dish, or topping, but find that once you add in the obligatory noodles or rice for it to sit on, its now way more calories than you wanted? Instead of pasta, try spinach. Instead of rice, try cauliflower rice!

Small plate, utensils and chew

I use a beautiful small plate for my meals and small utensils..example my favorite utensil is a demitasse sterling silver spoon. then I chew every bite 20 plus times. The whole process is much slower and I know when I get full as opposed to shoveling it in.

Me time

This time I am going to make it because everyday I will spend one entire hour of me time in a row. Doesn't matter with what. Either exercising, reading a book, pampering myself, I have scheduled it in my calendar so it will happen because everything in my calender I do!! Goodluck to you all!!

Small, frequent meals

I have reduced the amount of food I eat at each meal and spread it out over the day. It actually makes me eat less, and I have already made it to goal weight. Just concerned about maintence.

Ever morsel you eat is a choice

Pause and think what the trade off is and what you are going to eat now vs later. Look at it like spending your money- if you buy this then you can't have that. Make that conscious choice every time you eat.

Water and Multi-Vitamin

I keep a glass by the sink in the bathroom. That way, every night when I go to take my multi vitamin I make sure to have a full glass of water!

Tape it Up!

I bought a container of chocolate covered raisins one afternoon because I was really craving them. After having a handful, I wrapped it in tape and wrote "Emergency Only" on the outside. Knowing I would have to break that seal has stopped me from an emotional raisinette binge on several occasions!
