A great way to get the taste of soda without the excess calories is to drink flavored sparkling water. 0 calories, 0 sodium, and it tastes amazing (there's cherry, grape, lime, etc.). Plus it helps you get your water in without feeling like you're just drinking plain old water!
It's OK to feel hungry sometimes. You may be an hour away from dinner and you feel the pangs, drink some water and tough it out. Being in control is great.
I never say I can't have this or that ( that starts a craving beyond control) I never say diet I am making a lifestyle change. I will never live to eat again I will eat to live and look at food as fuel for my body to get me to the place I want to be.
Weigh in once a week so you actually see results on the scale and do it on a Monday so you will be less tempted to binge on the weekend. Happy losing!

A joint goal for wife and me combined. So far, we have dropped from 430# to 380#. Less focus on individual goals as one or the other leads the way at various times. Also the number sound more impressive!
I have to remember, that whatever the scale says...I own it. Whatever foods get recorded...I own it. The exercise done for the day...I own it. If good things take place, there is a reason for that...I own it. The same is true in reverse. Bad results? They are mine. I own them, too.
