Have a place for everything and make sure everything is in it's place before going to bed each night. I have bins labeled for batteries, cards, envelopes, travel items, etc. I even have a bin with separate drawers for different types of over the counter medicines. So I don't waste time.
I seem to have a bag for everything: for the gym, for lunch, for church, for the music lessons I teach, for the English lessons I teach, for going to the library. I even have a bag of bags in the trunk of the car to pack my groceries in!
If I need to bring an item with me the next day, I usually put it in a bag and hang the bag on the door knob so I see it as I am leaving. . . If the item happens to need refrigeration this wont work. . so I put my car keys in the fridge with the item. . . and never leave with out it!
I have a small erasable white board on my bedroom door. Every week I write down what exercise I'm going to do for each day of the week. This gives me a quick visual first thing in the morning of what I need to do that day to get in my execise.
If you want to stick to your diet, it is very important to plan a healthy menu, make a list, and stick to it when shopping. Stores are sure to put fattening and expensive treats on the end of an aisle and at eye level to get you to buy. Be sure to eat before you shop, to keep from impulse buying!
