reaching goals

I saw some friends this weekend for the first time after losing 25pds and being 8 pds to goal weight. Their reactions were priceless. what could be more motivating. They asked me what I was doing. I simply stated "Eat less, move more." I then I sing the praises of sparkpeople

when shopping, no matter how tired i am, i make an extra trip around the store, before checking out, just to get in those extra steps, just be careful of impulse buys....

Goal Clothes

Recently when my best friend and I took on the challenge to get fit and loose a bunch of weight, we each purchased one item of clothing that was a few sizes smaller that we wanted. We have hung up that item to set as a reminder to keep on the right path so we can actually one day wear it.

Look Good

Although I hate trying on clothes, I have found that purchasing one really great item to wear can boost my mood. It's not the cost, it's how it makes you feel!

Keeping Happy

To keep motivated, I have but one secret. I stay happy about my new healthy living program. Just knowing that I am doing something for myself, not anybody else-just me, gives me a sense of joy that keeps me going each and every day.

Change

Being a walker I sometimes get bored with the same old scenery, so I have measured out specific miles all over town. This helps keep my walks interesting.

10 minutes a day

Some days are so ugh-ly, I wonder how I can manage to even do 10 minutes of exercise! Thanks to my little dog, I know that I will get at least 20 minutes a day in, thanks to his morning and evening walks....he usually has such a great time and such a happy face that we walk even more! emoticon

Exercise After Surgery - My small WIN!

It was a beautiful day for viewing wildflowers. The slow pace of our walk, beautiful day, and beautiful scenery really helped.. The frustration of being limited was almost nonexistent. I was just sightseeing, but in actuality, I must have walked a mile. I was a wonderful feeling.
