Instead of having new year resolutions, I have new month resolutions. At the start of each new month, I recommit to doing all of the healthy things that I know I should do, but stop doing. For example, walking, writing in my journal, eating better, etc.
I saw some friends this weekend for the first time after losing 25pds and being 8 pds to goal weight. Their reactions were priceless. what could be more motivating. They asked me what I was doing. I simply stated "Eat less, move more." I then I sing the praises of sparkpeople
Recently when my best friend and I took on the challenge to get fit and loose a bunch of weight, we each purchased one item of clothing that was a few sizes smaller that we wanted. We have hung up that item to set as a reminder to keep on the right path so we can actually one day wear it.
To keep motivated, I have but one secret. I stay happy about my new healthy living program. Just knowing that I am doing something for myself, not anybody else-just me, gives me a sense of joy that keeps me going each and every day.
