Music is a great motivator!!! If you listen to good music it takes away from really what your doing..... Once I decided I wanted to shed 90 pounds, I bought an outfit in the size I will be when I lose it. I keep the outfit hanging prominently in my closet. I even took a picture of it with my cellphone. Anytime I feel my resolve slipping, I take a look at my outfit and remember what it's all about. Calisthenics on a two mile walk I do a two mile walk and do push ups on low benches or block walls, squats, lunges, calf raises, I get my aerobic and weight training on my daily walk. It's fun! I am really building strength and stamina. I do this 5 - 6 times a week. For every success, remember to reward yourself
It is important to reward yourself. For doing the every day things I have stars that I stick next to having met a daily goal. For bigger goals remember to have something that you have desired for a while, and I don't mean a doughnut!! When I don't make my goals, I get back up and get back on track! Stay with it people! "You are Who You Choose to Be"
Attitude is everything. Stay positive and you will achieve positive results. Don't be too hard on yourself when you experience a setback. DON'T DWELL on a mistake, REGROUP AND EXCEL! Achieving optimal fitness and health is a process. With patience and persistence, you will achieve. Every morning I send an email to a friend of mine telling her how I did the previous day: the food I ate, if I exercised, etc. This is a good way to start my day and get me on track, reminding me of my goals. It also helps me see where I failed the previous day and what areas I can do better in. For every 1 pound loss a reward. For every 1 pound lost i put a dollar in my savings. With every dollar I know I am closer to my goal and closer to my prize. I pick out a none food related reward for each month I hit a goal, stay on my plan or reach a new insight. Currently maintaining my weight, I pick out a reward that keeps me focus. The reward keeps me going and something to look forward to getting. Next reward is a day spa. Give yourself a treat after you make a goal (i.e. massage, pedicure, 1 favorite food item, etc.) |
