I've been using SparkGoodies as non-food rewards for non-scale AND scale victories. I usually pick out a gold star and list why I'm giving it to myself in the comment section. This keeps me from rewarding myself with food!
Finding a friend who has similar goals and has gone through the same journey that you have. My best friend Tracey is my accountability partner. We text and email anytime we need that extra support to keep going. We are about the same height and have both battled our weight for most of our lives. We face similar challenges and see each other through. This is especially helpful to battle emotional eating and food addiction.
As all Sparkies should remember to never give up!! I have been a member for a fair few years and even though i fell away for a while, forgot about Sparks People, forgot about how to live!!
I think that it helps to get into the habit of reading motivational quotes and stories daily, almost as integral as exercise and eating right, because it keeps your mind in the right place. It helps to reach for those thoughts when you feel down, and It reminds me of the quote: "If you feel like quitting, remind yourself why you started."
I have a motivation picture set as the background on my desktop, but I try to spend more time away from my computer since I have a desk job. Setting a transformation picture as my background helps remind me why I need to make healthier choices and push through the exercises.
You don't have to sit on that couch or lay in bed beneath the covers. You don't have to go to the kitchen and graze for comfort or to hide behind. You *don't*. You have the power within you to take a stand. It's scary, it's definitely an uphill process, DONT be afraid to let go of the things that GOT YOU here (struggling with weight, most likely a lot of health issues). DONT be afraid and DONT put it off. if YOU want to feel better about yourself, then DO something about it RIGHT now.
Friends I used to be weight freak and trained with heavy weights. These days I don't use any weights and results are tremendous. I use 2.25 lit soda bottles and visual the weight in my head and push, pull and lift as if it is 100 pounds. Results are great and I sggest you should try this way. it really helped me should help you too.
Last night, after a nice fulfilling dinner, I had a tremendous urge to eat something sweet.
On days that it feels unmotivated to exercise, promise yourself 10 minutes...
