Planning Ahead

I try and plan ahead what I'll eat on any given day --- especially when I'll be away from home making sure I have healthy food (such as a yogurt, low sugar granola bar, nuts, assorted fruits & veggies) so I won't get that hungry feeling that sabotages the best dieting plans.

Hot drinks

I find that food cravings are lessened if I drink a cup of hot tea (black or herbal) or coffee.

WATER in the car

I NEVER get in my car without a BOTTLE OF WATER! I have a bottle handy whether I am coming or going.

Drinking Games

Many people play drinking games with alcohol. I play them with water! In the car take a drink of water after each song on the radio, watching tv take several drinks during each commercial break, at work take a drink after answering each phone call or email. 8 cups will be gone before you know it!

MORE Fruit & Veg....every meal!!!!

Incorporate Fruit and/or Vegetable at EVERY MEAL & SNACK. Include at least one with breakfast, one for mid-morning snack, 2 @ lunch - you are already at 4 servings for the day! Dinner should ALWAYS include veggies and/or fruit.

Water Consumption

BEFORE that cup of morning coffee - drink a glass or TWO of water. If you have more than one cup of coffee in the morning - drink at least 1 glass between cups of coffee! This gives you a jump start on your water each day!

deceive your eyes

I bought the funnest salad plate and a "special" set of silverware..I use it instead of a "regular" plate..It holds less and gives me the opportunity to register the fact i am feeling full.. emoticon

Be True to Yourself

Use the calorie tracker even when you know what you're eating isn't always the healthiest. By being true to yourself you will establish healthy habits in the long run. Everyone has a bad day or strays once in awhile, don't take it as a defeat just another mile on the road to healthy eating.
