A La Carte Your Restaurant Salads

This is a useful tip for when you are eating out. Restaurants generally set up ingredient portions (nuts, berries, cheese) ahead of time for salads. Ask them to bring you your salad with add-ons in their pre-measured cups. That way you can control these portions on your salad!

Greek yogurt as snak

I am full and satisfied after eating 4-6 oz of greek yogurt. It is a great source of protein and is a thicker (like pudding) satisfying snack. I have to be careful not to eat too much a day because I really like it!

For your salads

Use Rice Wine Vinegar! It is in foreign food section of your grocery store..someone told me about it and it is so clean and tastes great! YOu also don't need to use too much a little goes a long way!!

Increasing Water Intake

My best bet for getting in at least 10 cups per day is "chug counting". Measure out 1 c. and count how many big, consecutive swallows it takes to drink it (for me, it's 12). I get water from the tap and know that when I count to my magic number of chugs, 8 oz. is down for the day!

Eat foods that you like!

This is a lifestyle change. I have to eat what I like. I hate salad, raw veggies, oatmeal, your typical diet foods. So I don't eat them! My diet is full of delicious food that I LOVE! I know I can eat like this for the rest of my life. It is not a temporary change.

Optical Illusion

I use a smaller plate when I am eating pasta, or anything that looks "small" on a dinner plate - I find I am satisfied with the serving size because it doesn't look so small after all!
