A good way to know if your portions are correct is by saving and re-using empty plastic fruit cups. They come in a package of 6 and are exactly 1/2 cup. Perfect portions every time! I re-wash mine and take them with me everywhere I go. Then when they wear out, I recycle them!
Staying away from the rich, deep-fried, chocolate laden foods can wear on your weight loss concentration. It's all about snacks in moderation, and portion control . I eat three well balanced, meals and two nutritious snacks a day. By spreading out my eating schedule, I don't binge eat!
I like to sprinkle popcorn with cinnamon. I use earth balance instead of butter to make it stick and when I'm using a computer I eat the popcorn with chop sticks.

I found that if I have pasta, rice and chicken already cooked and ready to go in my refrigerator then it is easy to throw together a quick stir fry for lunch or dinner.
I was never much of a water drinker until I started adding fresh fruit to it. Now, I drink my 8 glasses plus some with no problem. I bought a water pitcher from QVC that has a hollow tube in the middle of it. The tube has strainer-like holes and can be filled with fruits/ veggies. It's awesome!
OMGsh! I discovered Garlic Glove Farms (Suwanee GA) and their mixed grain pilaf---with bulgur wheat and quinoa--low sodium, low sugar, high fiber, high protein--and delicious!
fresh fruit, lowfat cheese, whole grain breads, non-mayonnaise based salads, (pasta salad with low fat vinaigrette and lots of fresh veggies is one of my personal favorites) non sweetened ice tea, grilled meats, all are great for a picnic and will help you stay on plan!!
