For a great snack before working out, slice a small banana in 1/2 length wise. Smear 1 teaspoon peanut butter in the middle and put back together like a sandwich. Kids would love this too!
When my first trainer told me this,I though she was nuts! Keep eating through the day?! But as I've grown accustomed to it,it DOES make SENSE!! When you fill your body with small meals, you keep the metabolism burning at an even rate-not getting to starvation mode, where when I get hungry, can eat WAY
When you snack or enjoy a meal that may be more calories than you need. Share with someone else. You still get the satisfaction of splurging with blowing your calories for the day. It also saves $$$.
Whenever I need to eat a few calories in order to make my caloric goal or on the run and need to nibble on something, I get a few Tic Tacs. They taste great and only add a few calories.

I can be in denial about how much I am eating. For me it is important to use the tracker to keep me honest and not over-eating. It also keeps me from under-eating. Basically, it just takes out all the guesswork.
I find a lot of low-fat/low-cal, otherwise healthy recipes can be under-seasoned and bland. Additionally, many people become so afraid of "added" fats that they cut out oils and dairy that isn't fat-free. I have always joked that "Butter is what makes food taste good!"
Depriving oneself of fatty (yummy) desserts 7 days a week can seem like hell. It's okay to have a fattening treat or two once a week and still be on track! (Last night I had a blueberry muffin, a chocolate chip cookie and hot cocoa!) Now I'm back in 'diet' mode!
Instead of using bread, I use Romaine lettuce to make a sandwich. It is a lot fewer calories than bread and lets you get the satisfaction of eating a sandwich.
I also have trouble with portion control with ice cream. While I am still in the counting calories to lose stage I am enjoying Skinny Cow bars. Each has only 100 calories with added fiber. Takes care of my chocolate craving while boosting my fiber intake for the day!
