Yogurt in Place of Sour Cream

In the mood for a creamy dip? Use plain, non-fat yogurt (preferably organic!) and mix with seasonings (dill, etc) and dip with whatever you like.

Chewing Gum instead of sweets

If I get the munchies and start craving the sweets, I head for sugar free gum. It takes care of the chewing motion and the hint of sweet in the gum satisfies the sweet craving. When all the flavor is gone, my jaw got a workout, and I no longer crave sweets.

making Greek yogurt tolerable

Ive read the benefits of Greek yogurt. I cant stand the tart taste of it alone. So, I buy a large container at Costco, split it into 4 servings and add 1 Tablespoon of sugar free marmalade, jam or something similar and let it sit for a day or two. It is a special treat.

High Fiber Dinner to Stop Snacking at Night

Eating a high fiber dinner keeps me full so I don't eat after dinner.

Example - Basmati brown rice, sweet potato, pinto beans, salad, chicken.

The meals are interesting as I use the foods as sides or ingredients.

Toast with peanut butter

I eat 100% whole wheat toast w/1 tbsp of peanut butter in the morning. It is very filling & gives me the right energy to start my day.

logging my meals

I need to be more active with logging in what I intake a day. I know I should, but how? Maybe I can record what I eat and then on Saturdays I can log everything in. I don't know. That's my secret. I know what I'm eating, it's just logging it in on the computer.

Liquid of Life

I find that when I get a minimum of 64 oz of water I don't feel as hungry and I know my body "runs" more efficiently. AND the more water I drink, the less not-so-healthy liquids I ingest!

The liquid of life....sip, slurp, glup...yum, yum!

Here's to ya... emoticon

Friuts

Eating lots of fruits and veggies have helped me with weight loss. No fruit juices since they have a lot of sugars but the real fruit that one can bite into. It has all the nourishment and fiber and it tastes lovely. Since I am on the road so much I buy some each morning and start the day!

Planning Ahead

I try and plan ahead what I'll eat on any given day --- especially when I'll be away from home making sure I have healthy food (such as a yogurt, low sugar granola bar, nuts, assorted fruits & veggies) so I won't get that hungry feeling that sabotages the best dieting plans.

Hot drinks

I find that food cravings are lessened if I drink a cup of hot tea (black or herbal) or coffee.
