Carry around a 32 oz water bottle... Like the Nalgene BPA free ones. You know you have to drink 2 of these before you go to bed to reach 8 glasses. I bring it on a walk, to the gym, in the car, shopping.... before the day is done I usualy have had 3 bottles full!
There are reams and reams of reports about High Fructose Corn Syrup. I only know what's worked for me. As soon as I my husband and I started cutting it out (about a year ago), we started to lose weight (don't go by my ticker, I just joined SparkPeople).
I don't know about you but I eat a lot of fruits & vegetables. If I want a snack, I'll go to the fridge and pull out strawberries, an apple, or an orange. They give me something sweet, juicy, & healthy. Plus, all our meals are preapred in advance so no shopping in the fridge for something quick.
I highly recommend finding some REALLY good AGED Balsamic Vinegar and using it for salad dressing. I know it can get expensive, but we are worth it and the taste is so good you don't need olive oil to make an awesome salad. There are flavored ones as well. This is NOT your everyday vinegar.
Sometimes when I wake up and my tummy is upset or I know I have plenty of time for breakfast, I eat something unconventional. To me, breakfast just means breaking the fast, not necessarily eating oatmeal or egg whites but whatever I like. Later I may even eat cereal for dinner!
Do research on all your favorite restaurants. Get an idea of their calorie counts, so no matter how last-minute your plans are, you have a wide variety of options!
I don't always eat a meal at breakfast, lunch or dinner, but drink it. I "juice" either fruits or vegetables, depending on the meal it will replace.
just on a hunch i decided not to put either a stick of butter or a third of a cup of oil when i made banana nut muffins. i decided to use some fresh fruit from the frig and i pureed it. so using a cake mix 1 egg white and 1 1/2 cup mixed fruit puree, bake as normal = best muffins ever.
