Managing Holiday Splurges

My secret for holiday eating: I told myself I could go over no more than 2lbs gaining weight back for the holidays. I kept myself in check by still weighing myself everyday and when I splurged on cookies, cake or carbs, I did it moderately. I only had a small slice of cake or 2 cookies or a small helping of mac n cheese. I kept it to 2-3 small splurges per day and still exercised as well. I kept to my 2lb over goal and now I'm back on track! emoticon

Whose water bottle is this?

I happily now have my whole family drinking PLAIN water {though we used to LOVE Propel!} and with that accomplishment comes everyone's water bottle and no identification! So, we put our first initial or both intials on the cap and it solves the problem! Plus if someone is sick, I know WHICH water bottle is mine!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I'm Thankful for Sparkpeople and that I have lost 93lbs and I am no longer pre-diabetic. So many American children are in need this season...so dont forget to buy a toy tommorrow and donate to Toys For Tots... The Toys For Tots drive runs until Saturday December 17th...drop off a new toy at your local post office or drop off center. If you havent made a donation to your local food bank..do that too...not only will it make you feel good, you'll fill someone's tummy at Xmas! God Bless Everyone

Up your water intake

I take a 1.5 litre bottle of fizzy water to work and as soon as I sit down I put it on my desk with a glass. Every time I have a cup of coffee I pour a glass of water. It's amazing how much more water I drink that way.

Plan For Treats

Plan for treats. It is unrealistic to think that you will never eat any of your favorite foods again. It will often make you crave them even more. Keep moderation and portion control in mind. When you have a birthday party or other celebration to attend, plan you day around it and you can still stay within your goals.
