Walking has been the thing for me in relieving stress. I have a small country road next to the house or go to the park to walk. Either place has nice trees and birds singing their beautiful music. So stop and smell the roses and listen to the music. Also if you can afford it the resperate that is advertised on the sparkpeople site has helped me. I just started using it but I can already tell the difference in helping me to relax.
I bought seltzer water and I love sauvignon blanc. I've begun filling my glass half way with zelzer water, adding ice cubes then the wine - totally has cut down on my wine intake and I still feel like I'm indulging
I take 15 minutes a night to myself. I lock the bathroom door and light a lavender candle, fill the tub with hot water. Anyone brave enough to knock on the door will hear about it. This has become an every night thing with me. It takes the stress out of the day and makes me a nicer person over all.
I have found that if I go through a new (portal) tab option, screen or button on the web-page (which ever page I am on) I find new and helpful bites of mental stimulus! Health ideas, medical knowledge, recipes, testimonies, quizzes... I can't stop finding something new! The Spark People site is like a buffet that keeps having the food changed out with something new that can do nothing but add to my success! I keep learning something new that will definitely help me get there sooner than later!
