staying sane

I have successfully maintained my weight for 13 years simply by being human at times. 2 days a month I let myself eat or drink whatever I want. I don't miss the way i looked as a 2x 13 years ago but I enjoy eating occasionally like I did when I was fat.

To flavor water

I make a special tray of ice using either a dash of lemon juice or a real lemon slice. Once frozen I had a few of these to my glass of water. Pretty AND flavorable!

Grocery Shopping Backwards

At most grocery shops, produce, meat & dairy are the first depts. The problem (for me) was that I would pick up items from these sections & then get sidetracked reading labels & comparing prices in other areas, so my first items wouldnt stay cold. Now I shop 'backwards' & pick up cold items last

HUNGER

I find that a lot of times when I think I'm hungry, I'm really not. Most of the time that empty "NEED FOR FOOD" feeling is taken away by drinking water. emoticon

EAT BREAKFAST

Be sure to eat breakfast everyday! Breakfast used to be my Kryptonite but I have gotten into the habit of eating it. It gets the metabolism jump started in the morning and you won't over eat at lunch because you won't be STARVING.

Clean Teeth

After you eat your dinner go immediately and brush your teeth and floss very well. You will do your teeth and gums good and be discouraged at the same time to eat anything else before bed time. emoticon

Dark chocolate and tummy massage

When I get hungry and it's not lunch or dinner time yet, I often eat a small piece of very dark chocolate (70% cacao !) which is easy to find here in Belgium.
To make sure my bowels work every day, I give myself a tummy massage in bed before I go to sleep, it really helps !
