Do you have a kitchen or cooking secret that saves time, calories or clean up?
I'm making a Birthday cake for my bowling team and I have to make icing and of course I have to try it to make sure it is okay. My mouth taste sicking sweet. I don't eat a lot of sweets and I don't use sugar on things so you can see why.
A splash of almond oil instead of olive oil when sauteeing adds a great hint of flavour to many meats and veggies.
I sometime use crushed pork rinds and sesame seeds as a low-carb substitute for breading chicken. Gives a smokey flavor. Try the bar-b-que flavored too.
I have learned to eat egg whites or egg white substitutes along with shrimp as my primary protein sources because they are so low in calories--more bang for my buck!
I will make Milanese Fettucine Alfredo today with Saffron sauce. Cannot wait! :)
I like to take a regular recipe and reduce the fat and sugar, and/or substitute w/ no calorie sweetner.
On a few weekends I cook a few "large" meals. We than measure them ie a cup of chilli, put them in vacuum bags and freeze. They stay fresh for an extended period of time with the vacuum bags, we always have a variety on hand to take for lunch or for a quick dinner when we don't feel like cooking
I love cheese and I could easily eat too much of it ,so I select a small piece of parmesan cheese and use a lemon zester to grate it over my vegetables- It grates the cheese into much smaller pieces, than a regular grater and I get the taste I want (crave),from a small chunk.
