Granddaughter

We baked peanut butter, sugar cookies, cinnamon buns, large biscuits and I had to have at least 1/2 of each thing. I stayed close to my food intake anyway. emoticon

Savng the Sodium on Salad Dressing

I tried lemon juice as a dressing. It tasted much better than I thought and certainly helps in watching sodium levels.

Saving Pizza

When we order a pizza we eat less than half so I wrap it well and freeze the leftovers. Then we heat it when we want pizza again either for dinner with a salad or a slice for lunch. We don't like a lot of cheese or sauce at all so we mainly get fresh tomato, broccoli and onion with a little cheese

2 (or 3 or 4) for 1 meals

When you are cooking dinner - think about leftovers.
Make 2 or 3 extra servings & use that for lunch or dinner over the next week - Great for Chili (put on baked potato or make taco salad) or Grilled Chicken.

Poaching Chicken

When I poach chicken and dont have time to let it dry out a little before using it in a recipe. I shred it, put it in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out the extra liquid.
