Prevent Crying When Chopping Onions

Wear tight fitting goggles to prevent the chemicals in onions from entering your eye. It really works! Amazon sells special Onion Goggles and they look sporty, cool, and a tad nerdy.

Preparing my own protein

Yesterday, there were four pork steaks in the package for around $8.00. I bought them and took them home. I used Pam in the pan and fried each one until it was brown on each side. Then I put it in a baking dish with some water in the bottom and then baked it at 250 until they were done, several

Shirataki

Get the pasta feel without all the pasta. Drain it, rinse it and parboil to get rid of the odor. You'll get used to the texture - I promise

Onions for Flavor

I like to sprinkle a few fresh chopped onions into many of my recipes. To save time, I cut up a whole onion and put the unused portion into a small container and put it in the refrigerator. When I need a little onion the next day, it's ready and so am I.

Low Carb Substitues for Pasta part 1

I love pasta, and make it frequently as it's a favorite in my household. The best part about my pasta however is my homemade sauce (and all the ooey gooey cheese!). I swap out the pasta with roasted eggplant or shirataki tofu noodles and have a very indulgent dinner for about 300 calories!

Try New Things

I try at least 1-2 new recipes every couple weeks. Sometimes it is something completely new and other times it is something that I have adapted to be more healthy. I don't even have the same meal more than once a month.
