Do you have a kitchen or cooking secret that saves time, calories or clean up?
I cook up my meals for the week on sunday and freeze them in individual packages. Then mark with the day I planed it for. You don't need a seal a meal if your only doing a week at a time. Seal up a freezer bag, leaving an opening big enough for a straw to fit in and suck out the air, works great
Putting all LIKE foods together in open boxes for easy prep. Salad Stuff, Yogurt and berries, sandwich fixings.... Just grab the box and it is all there- no hunting or thinking..presliced and ready to go in one container on the counter- right there and all healthy- no looking @ the unhealthy stuff
I've come to realize that when I cook for the family I tend to eat more food than what I should be..
Whenever I'm cooking and the recipes calls to saute vegetables in oil or butter, I use broth instead. It saves so many calories and tastes the same
I prefer Ginger root for stir fries. I store my ginger root in a zipper bag in my freezer. When I want the ginger I just remove the end skin and grate the frozen root over the pot.
It goes through the fine grater and sprinkles over the surface. No clumping. I return ginger in bag to the freezer...
You put a lot of calories on when your cooking by tasting your food so see if it seasoned right. If you brush your teeth and tongue first the food will taste funny and with a nice fresh breath you don't want to put something in your mouth to spoil that freshness.
quick and easy! I hate waiting for food to cook. So, I placed a potato in a plastic grocery bag trapped air in the bag. tid the bag closed. and set the time to cook for 5 mins. Wow! it really works. A fresh bake potato when ever you want
My most valuable kitchen tool for dieting is a nonstick fry pan.
I use it for almost every meal with nocalorie cooking spray.
Opt for a plain hamburger/turkey/chicken burger and spread Laughing Cow on your bun/bread/sandwich thin/bagel thin and save on calories; 1 wedge is approx 35 calories and it's delicious!
