Do you have a kitchen or cooking secret that saves time, calories or clean up?
When I have a chocolate craving I make a fruit cup with 11/2 Tablespoons of Chocolate Sauce underneath it. It is delish, you can take it with you and really kicks the craving too!
I use cut up Apple, a few grapes, a slice of orange filet and maybe some copped up nuts. But all fruits fits!
I put it on everthing lol
Thinking about how much I dread going to the store or to a restaurant because of the distance and time it takes to get there prevents me from eating out and encourages me to stay home and cook.
I love the dishwasher safe cutting boards. Usually made from Plastic, glass or any other surface that slips. If you heavily dampen one ( two paper towels if thay are thin). Place them under your board for rolling or hand chopping. The board will stay in place.For a long job, wet it again as needed.
Spicing up food makes me feel as if I am not being deprived, since certain spices make food taste great & high quality.
Canned refried beans are either high in fat or in sodium and usually both.
I found a receipe that uses dried beans and has very little fact and no sodium.
I can't stand eating food that's too bland, so my secret to eating healthy is cooking with spices! It's the best way to add calorie free flavor. Cumin is my absolute favorite for everything from burgers to tacos to marinade! Yum!

Eating fresh usually means a bit of veggie prep. I find that doing all the prep in the morning/afternoon and putting it in a bowl w/ a lid saves me tons of time in the evening. I marinade my proteins then too. In the fridge w/ it, & when I get home from work late in the evening dinner is a snap!
I've been able to make more time in my day by utilizing my Crock Pot more. Starting with fresh veggies makes dishes healthier too. I've been able to fit in more exercise time and more time with the kids by doing this. Try it!!!
