Pillow Cases Organize Sheet Sets! After doing laundry I fold and place all the pieces of a sheet set (fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillowcases) inside one pillowcase and put it in the linen closet. Then when I need to make the bed I don't have to dig around for a matching set! Store Natural Peanut Butter Upside Down--Then Stir & Refrigerate Natural peanut butter doesn't contain added oils, but it does require regular stirring, especially when you first buy it. That can be messy and difficult. So each time I buy a new jar, I store it in my pantry upside down until I'm ready to use it. That mixes the oil better for easier stirring!
I find it great to clean an area a day quickly. I divided our house by 5 area & clean one area daily. By doing that I only have quick pick up and put away to keep house cleaner on Saturday for the weekend! Sunday I don't clean. Chemical free microwave cleaning Wet a dish rag or sponge, put it in the microwave and "cook" for a least a minute. Let the dish rag sit in the microwave for a minute as it will be too hot to handle. Wipe out the inside and door of microwave. It's easy and it doesn't cost you anything. Works great for tough cooked on spills! Take 15 minutes to declutter or organize, and you will see a difference within days! I'm doing this daily at home PLUS an additional 15 at work. It makes a world of difference! After reading all the bad comments about plastic wrap, I get coffee filters at the dollar store and use them to cover foods in the microwave. I also use them to line the bowl I use for my digital scale. Keeps messes to a minimum.
I always have my bathroom sink clogging up - between hair, facial masks, etc. And I hate asking my husband to fix it for me. Yesterday I was reading Redbook, and they gave me a concoction to use: When you bring home a bunch of bananas, pull them apart so that they are all single ones. They won't ripen so fast. For all things that come in large bags or boxes (cereal, crackers, pita chips, etc) I repackage them in snack bags as 100 calorie servings. This cuts down on my guestimation errors when I just grab a handful or pour a bowlful! MOSQUITOES - That time of year!
A GREAT repellent is BOUNCE (in the orange box). It contains white oleander and mosquitoes HATE the smell. Tie one on you & you won’t be bothered by them. Wipe outside walls & surfaces like decks & cushion covers & you’ll never see them. Don’t use heavily perfumed shampoos, lotions, hairsprays or deodorants. They also LOVE dark colored clothes, so don't wear. |
