OK, this is one I haven't tried yet, but I find it intriguing. I'm thinking of getting a standing desk, so I stand at my computer instead of sitting. I worry that my feet would get too tired but I think it would be good for me not to be sitting so much.
Maybe you've made the move to using smaller sized plates and bowls to help cut portion size, but you don't like the look of a smaller-sized plate in front of you. Make your place setting appear more glamorous as well as LARGER, by using full size plate as a charger, or a salad plate under your smaller bowls.
I was sitting too much. I've tied moving for 2 minutes to each time I have to refill my water glass. I put 8 Ws down a note pad. Each time I finish a glass, I cross off a W and next to it I put the activity I do before I sit down with the next glass. That activity must last at least 2 minutes. If it lasts more than 2 minutes, I record that extra time, also. I enter all of that in my fitness tracker favorites as "Home Circuit" and give it calorie burn = to walking or strength training.
On these sunny summer days, I take the extra time to hang all of my laundry on the lines outside instead of throwing it all in the dryer. The few extra steps saves some money and adds a little more movement throughout the day, (and the sheets smell fantastic)
I make my own laundry detergent. The site says around $28 a year. Honestly, I made mine before Thanksgiving and haven't even used 2 bottles worth, so I think it could last more than a year.
