I buy a big stack of paper coffee filters at the $1 store and use them for microwave cooking. They work great as dish covers and also as coasters for microwaving small foods like rolls or muffins when you don't want to get a plate dirty. Way cheaper than using paper towels!
I keep a bowl of safety pins in the area where I take my socks off. I pin the two socks together and drop them in a net bag on the cloths hamper. One bag is for dark and one is for light. After the laundry is done, I fold them over with the pin and put them in the drawer. All matching is done.
When I don't have a housefull of dishes I wash them by hand ( burns calories) and while I am doing that I do squats, calf lifts and leg lifts, when I put them into the dishwasher to dry I do lunges. Getting in extra strength and calorie burning that way.
My husband is a junk food junkie so whenever he eats junk I crave them too. So, the other day he asked me to give him a bowl of Doritos, which I did, and then ate 4 chips myself before putting them back in the cupboard.
