It has made me feel really good no matter what is going on in my life :) Tue, 3 Jul 2012 07:20:00 EST WATCH MOTIVATIONAL YOUTUBE VIDEOS When I get down, I go to youtube and watch inspirational videos such as 80 year old figure skating and things like the paraolympics. Also, on youtube the stories from I AM SECOND are testimonies of "overcoming" stories from hardships such as cancer... it reminds me ..... that life is more than a number on a scale... Mon, 2 Jul 2012 01:04:00 EST Don't let it get you down Problems are opportunities. Work them out. Fri, 22 Jun 2012 07:21:00 EST I imagine myself as the ocean When things get stressful and tense. Tue, 19 Jun 2012 13:55:00 EST Nothing wrong with NOT buying the shirt When I try a new shirt at the store, if it doesn't look good, I don't buy it. Nothing wrong with that. Just because I don't look good in every shirt doesn't mean there's anything *wrong* with me.

So, while trying to find a healthy lifestyle that fits, if I'm not happy with what I'm doing or can't make it work, find something new. I'm not a failure because it doesn't look good on me. Sun, 17 Jun 2012 22:08:00 EST I Share My Goals With Positive People I share my goals with positive people. You know the ones. They're the ones who encourage you when you want to try something different, who are uplifting when you're feeling down, and who never say "I told you so" when you don't succeed right away. What I don't do: share my weight loss goals with negative people. I deserve to be surrounded by positive people, people full of the spark of life! :) Thu, 7 Jun 2012 18:37:00 EST My Son My son is 14 years old and the dynamic here between him and his step-father have recently taken a turn for the worst. There isn't a lot I can do as a mother or wife to make it right between them but to stay positive. I try to stay positive by working out, talking things out and just being here for others. Mon, 4 Jun 2012 13:03:00 EST Encourage Others On Their Journey Encourage other friends on SP and you will find it that you will feel better about the day. I Huddle my encouragements and even leave a positive message on a friend's page. Fri, 1 Jun 2012 22:23:00 EST Its NOT a diet... Viewing my weight loss as a lifestyle change has allowed me to not only lose weight, but also maintain the weight loss. Do I eat sweets and chocolate? Do I go out for drinks with friends? Yes. Its ok to indulge, as long as it is in moderation. I find that if I cut everything out that would be high calorie, etc..., I crave it even more, which makes me a not-so-happy person. Keep moving, and find the joy in eating healthy, chocolate included. Mon, 28 May 2012 13:10:00 EST Daily, When I wake up in the morning, I pay close attention to what I am thinking. Wed, 25 Apr 2012 10:43:00 EST Mini Goals and Monthly Weighins I often become discouraged, and as such I do not allow my goals to set me up to fail. I have a small weight loss goal for the month, usually the absolute smallest amount I could lose under my current regimen. Then I leave the scale alone! At the end of the month I get to see my progress, and I have not been let down yet. Great trick for keeping stress in its place! If you find worries interrupting your positive outlook, set an appointment time for dealing with them. If stress creeps back into any other part of your day, remind yourself it's not time for that yet. During your "appointment" set a timer and devote all your attention to worrying. When it rings, move on to your next activity--just as you would with any other appointment. You'll be amazed at what this mental exercise can do to improve your quality of life! Wed, 14 Mar 2012 13:11:00 EST Adversity in a Spirit of GROWTH!... Whenever I am facing a difficult of challenging time, I visualize something positive... and when it gets harder - I think of this time as a moment to learn about myself from this situation. Trying is free. Tue, 21 Feb 2012 12:00:00 EST Take Your Time I try to stay mindful of whatever activity I do rather than letting my mind wander. I then look forward to my afternoon run. Sat, 4 Feb 2012 18:34:00 EST Letting Go Of Some Control We seem to be very good at punishing ourselves for everything wrong that has ever happened ever! When in reality, there is only so much we can control, and even less we can control *right now*. If you made all the right choices and the scale still goes up, it's ok... that is out of your control. You ate cake or skipped a workout yesterday? Out of your present control. Let it go, and let yourself off the hook, so that you can focus on making good choices *right now*. It makes you feel like you have to give up the things you love to be healthy. This is not true as long as you stay within your calorie bracket and do some exercise at least 3/5 days a week you wil be fine. We have had torrential rain for hours, thunder storms all Wednesday night into Thursday till about 5 PM. 7 inches of rain or more and our road was on the news as closed and really bad. My house is on a hill but the rain was bad and my pool almost overflowed the sides. During the summer we needed rain and then when the garden items where just starting to ripen it decided to rain non stop. Anyone want to swim? Smile stay happy. Each hour I try to walk at lease 10 to 15 minutes extra and that can be 5 t0 1000 steps. When I am close to 500 or 1000 I will walk to get there. Then I walk 30 to 60 minutes to get 4 to 6000 steps. My area had a lot of rain and a steady wind but not too damaging. I think people that where in the line of Irene did not wait to take care of things this time and that saved a lot of lives and damage from happening. Some things you can't stop like flooding but still take precaution's. Tornadoes in place that never have them was a nightmare but still survived. Hope we don't have another soon. God bless everyone.
