Don’t forget to wear sunscreen every day, even if you live in a cold, snowy area. Snow reflects about 80 percent of the ultraviolet radiation that hits it, meaning you’re at risk for sun damage even in the middle of January. Looking your best throughout the year doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. By maintaining a regular skincare routine and adjusting it to suit the season, your own personal beauty will continue to glow in any kind of weather. |

I find that year-round, my skin is happier if I use gentle, fragrance-free products made for sensitive skin. I always use a non-comedogenic facial moisturizer with SPF 15. I have oily, acne-prone skin and never thought I should moisturize, but a gentle moisturizer actually calms down the oiliness. Especially in summer, I like to mix a little bit of liquid makeup into my moisturizer, to make my own tinted moisturizer.
My husband has psoriasis and has more, and worse, outbreaks in winter. I think it comes from irritated, dry skin. We switch to moisturizing body wash and a rich, fragrance-free body lotion.
And of course, drink plenty of water year-round for healthy skin and hair! - 8/19/2010 12:59:53 PM

If you have your own pool (or can influence the pool manager), use SILVER instead of copper as your metal agent. It is equally as effective and you can swim daily, as I do in the AZ desert, without the slightest risk of turning green. - 8/26/2009 6:05:04 PM
