  • I have a couple of flat bands I got when I was taking physical therapy and then I have some with the handles that are differant. I need to get back to using them for my shoulder.

  • I have both types of bands, the flat type and the one with handles. I am recovering from surgery and use the flat kind to give myself a workout. Also I use isometric exercise to keep toned. I am in a wheelchair right now and the bands are a lifesaver. - 2/7/2013 6:13:14 PM
  • For WINGEDDREAMS: Most resistance bands are latex, but you can find some that are latex-free (I received several as gifts--they're a godsend--believe they were purchased from a sporting goods store). Just Google to locate resources. - 2/7/2013 3:32:42 PM
  • Hi!

Thank you Coach Nicole! I Have a question about resistance bands. I have been wanted to purchase some for sometime now but I don't feel that I know enough to make an informed decision.

So here's my question: I've seen bands that don't have the handles. Are those the same thing? Are there pros and cons to those with handles and those without? Usually, the ones I've seen without aren't like round tubes but, rather, they are flat and very soft but also come in few different resistances.

    So..what do you think? - 2/7/2013 2:11:33 PM
  • these are great to take in the motor home. don't take up much space or add weight to the load. - 2/7/2013 10:51:58 AM
  • I will try those when I get them! - 2/3/2013 3:44:01 PM
  • nice intro to the bands. I have never used them before and may look into them to help change up my routine now and again - 1/9/2013 9:27:40 AM
  • If those bands are too long, you can wrap a loop around your foot, to shorten it. But - as Nicole points out - be careful that it stays wrapped around your foot.

  • i have some resistance bands but they are way too long. I was doing the 20 minute seated resistance band workout and had to plant my feet as far apart as I could get them...lol...not sure how effective that was. - 11/24/2012 9:57:55 AM
