By waiting a bit, and shopping around, I was able to get a cork brick/block on sale for less than $10, cheaper than some foam bricks! And I've seen foam ones on sale as well. Even "used" ones can be bought cheaply - if you are squeamish about "germs", just scrub it gently with mild soap and water (cork or foam).

This was a great video. I never knew what blocks were for,. I will be adding them into my work out now as a great aide.
As my instructors say "blocks just bring the floor a little closer". Some people think using blocks is "cheating". Not so. It doesn't mean you aren't working just as hard. As Nicole said it can really help with your alignment.

Thanks for the video. I'm very new at yoga and struggle with flexibility. Blocks! Again, thank you for the much needed aide! I'll be more apt to do yoga now that I have this tool.
I had these but never knew how to use them. This video not only showed me that but has made the probability of achieving some of the yoga poses much higher, Many thanks from a vertically challenged new block sitter.
