We look at those Bally Total Fitness commercials, and drool in envy. We open up a Cosmo, and stare with amazement. We then say to ourselves, “I’m going to change things right now, and start working to look like that.” The problem comes along when we are working hard; we again look at those idols and wonder why we don’t look like them. The truth is that it takes time, and it takes pain to get to where we want to go. Getting in shape, or starting a business, or completing a big community service project all take a little bit of hard work to accomplish. It’s the amazing end product that we are striving for, and working our butts off for. Achieving a great goal is going to take some form of pain to reach, but stick it out-and you’ll get there. And don’t compare yourself to the best in the field. You are comparing yourself to YOU, and YOU ALONE. What is important is that you are stepping up your own personal bar, not trying to reach someone else’s.
