Itís a fear almost all of us have, asking a silly question in front of a large group and getting laughed at. We feel like everyone will look down on us and think weíre stupid, so we hold our tongue and possibly mess something up later. Then we question why we didnít speak up in the first place. Now think of a time when someone else in a group you were in asked a very basic question. Did you think they were stupid? Probably not. In fact, either you or someone else was probably wondering the same thing, but did not feel like asking. Questions are a part of learning, so feel free to speak up. You can still learn without asking questions, but itís called the hard way for a reason.
