The flue shot is 62% successful this year. That number comes to you from the makers of the flue shot.... and i've been sick 7 times since receiving mine.,1 in the last year before it. apparently I am the 48% left behind.

Lies! The flu shot doesn't prevent the flu! It's as helpful as getting hit by a car.

8/9 Ditto to BLUE42DOWN! I also disagree that the flu shot is the best way to prevent the flu. All it takes is a different strain to surface and the flu shot you had is worthless.

Even though I know the "right answer" to get a perfect score is getting a flu shot, I hate the way that question is worded. Getting a flu shot is no guarantee a person will avoid coming down sick, nor does failing to get a flu shot guarantee a person will get sick. I've never had a flu shot and couldn't begin to tell you the last time I got sick with an actual flu bug. It's been a few years since I even had a cold (I don't count simple sniffles - just ones that include throat or congestion or cough symptoms). I do occasionally have an overnight fever that I attribute to my body killing some virus without me getting "sick".

Honestly, the BEST action we can take is strengthening our body's immune system - which means being well-hydrated, well-rested, and well-nourished.

The flu shot does not prevent the flu and herbal prevention do help - Vitamin C , Zinc and other natural vitamins do prevent the flu - washing hands is the key !

the Flu shot does not help prevent since there are so many strains of flu - I have and have not had the shot and either way I have not had it but three times on my life yet those who have has it are sick as a dog.

Paid-off weasels! I knew I shouldn't have taken this quiz.... the "get your flu shot now" propaganda just HAD to be thrown in there, along with the "jury is still out" on echinnacea and vitamin C helping (FYI the jury is out because pharmaceutical companies have taken them to a neverending lunch break).

Couldn't bring myself to select the flu shot answer even though I knew that would be the *ahem* "correct answer.

One more suggestion, just in case someone is actually reading this comment, you can ward off many illnesses that you get exposed to (if you HAVE to be out in the public) by gargling with salt water frequently (especially before bed). It has been discovered that airborne stuff gets caught in your throat first, so you may be able to kill it with salt before your immune system has to bother fighting it.
