SparkPeople is very excited to announce a new partnership with MISSION Skincare™, an Athlete-Engineered skincare company co-founded by top athletes, including Mia Hamm, Serena Williams, Amanda Beard, Sergio Garcia, and Steve Nash. Their products are designed for everyday use by anyone with an active lifestyle. Together, we're on a MISSION to Spark even more people to reach their goals—and offer some great opportunities to all of our SparkPeople members along the way.

I’m very excited about the partnership between SparkPeople and MISSION Skincare! Josh Shaw, the founder of MISSION Skincare, is a longtime SparkPeople member who used SparkPeople to lose 40 pounds after his appearance on NBC's The Apprentice in 2005.

Josh and his team have quickly built MISSION Skincare into a great company with revolutionary and affordable skincare products ranging from sunscreens and lip balms to anti-friction and foot creams. Their athlete partners are very involved in the product development and marketing, and together, they are not only creating breakthrough products, but they are also helping to support their various charitable foundations. MISSION Skincare donates a percentage of its profits to the athletes' foundations.

We hope that many of these athletes will join and support SparkPeople.com! In fact, we are pleased that Mia Hamm and Charlie Engle have joined us as the first two members of the MISSION Skincare SparkTeam, and we look forward to others joining in the coming weeks. You probably already know and respect Mia, and we're sure that you'll be inspired by Charlie's 111-day run (42 miles per day!) across the Sahara Desert to raise money for H20 Africa.

The SparkPeople/MISSION Skincare partnership will benefit new and existing SparkPeople members, too! As a result, SparkPeople members will:
  • Receive ongoing discounts on MISSION Skincare's revolutionary products
  • Have the opportunity to interact with some of the world’s top athletes
  • Be able to enter fun contests and read special features on our healthy lifestyle blog, dailySpark.com
Plus, we'll be able to Spread the Spark to millions more people! You can take advantage of this partnership right now! Here's how.
  1. Visit www.MissionSkincare.com RIGHT NOW to take advantage of a special offer extended to ALL SparkPeople members: 15% OFF your purchase when you use the promotional code Spark15 at checkout. Please use this promotional discount code as often as you'd like!
  2. Join the MISSION Skincare SparkTeam for a chance to “meet” and interact with MISSION Skincare athletes like Mia and Charlie--and more to come in the future! Members of this Team will also be the first to know about special offers and contests, courtesy of MISSION Skincare.
With summer finally here, now is a great time to try MISSION Skincare's sunscreen products to make sure your skin gets the protection it needs from harmful rays. They are paraben-free, loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, manufactured in the USA and animal cruelty-free. Here are some of our favorite products:
“I definitely loved mine. It applied smoothly and kept my lips soft. I have very dry lips and tend to wear lipstick. But when I work out, lipstick isn't practical. MISSION lip balmers are!"

“Love them, especially the pomegranate flavor! I like the fact that there is sunscreen in them and most importantly, they leave my lips feeling smooth and protected.”

“I keep one in my desk at work and use it almost every day. They go on really smooth and don't feel greasy or sticky.”

  • I agree with those who live outside of USA. It's cost the same as sending to another state. I live in Puerto Rico and I can tell you some states cost more because you have to pay taxes and if you ship to my country the s&h is the same that USA. - 9/14/2012 12:46:08 AM

Why did this come up today 1-30-2012 like it was a "new" blog.......can't you get rid of old posts like these? - 1/30/2012 4:40:27 PM
  • I used the spark15 discount yesterday with no problem, I really love the anti chafe stick and the lip balms

  • I looked at their site & couldn't find any mention of whether or not their products are tested on animals. NO mention of a policy toward animal testing that I could see. ???

Article is old so offer is way out-of-date. Sounds like an interesting product line otherwise. - 3/6/2011 7:26:37 PM
  • Oh now I see that this is an old article based on the comments. I tried using the code the other day and it didn't work.

Why do old articles show up in the featured section when they deal with time-sensitive matters? - 12/7/2010 12:32:27 PM
  • Aside from the Serena Williams bundle, everything there seems to be reasonably priced. As for the US only shipping, I'm sure it's something that they'll have remedied soon enough. - 9/25/2009 12:31:32 PM
  • It's unfortunate they do not ship to APO addresses in support of US Military stationed overseas. - 6/17/2009 5:46:37 AM

Oxybenzone (4.0%) as the main ingredient in the sunscreen, and lots of other junk in there. Good concept, I like the people involved, but the sunscreen is the same ole, same ole. I wouldn't put that on my skin, especially when most of the people I know who have HAD cancer are the ones who have loaded up on Oxybenzone products when in the sun! Best to stick w/natural products like AUBREY ORGANICS Natural Sun, which uses Titanium Dioxide, a much safer method for your skin. Get the facts folks, with Wikipedia (http://en.wikipe
    dia.org/wiki/
Oxybenzone) a good place to start, and more and more testing being done. Hopefully MISSION SKINCARE changes this up, cuz I'll definitely try it if they do! - 6/16/2009 1:55:49 PM
  • Great idea - too bad it is only available in the US. So many Sparkpeople will not get a chance at yet another great idea (or the contests). - 6/16/2009 10:24:43 AM
  • Running 42 miles per day for 111 days sounds like a lot. Hope he stopped to "sight-see" along the way. - 6/16/2009 9:41:19 AM
