Congratulations on your engagement, and welcome to SparkPeople, America's most active weight-loss and healthy living website! This article will introduce you to some of the SparkPeople features that can help you lose weight, get fit, tone up, and look and feel your best on your wedding day. We offer a variety of FREE tools, trackers, articles and support options that can help you achieve success between now and your big day, no matter how near or far away it may be.
What SparkPeople Offers
A Safe Weight-Loss Plan. SparkPeople's meal plans and food tracker, combined with our vast resources and support teams, have helped thousands of people lose weight steadily, safely and permanently. Following our trademark SparkDiet (a healthy lifestyle change) can help you reach your weight-loss goals. To learn more about our weight-loss program and recommendations, click here. By setting up your free account and setting your own weight-loss goal, you'll be able to lose 1-2 pounds per week (or up to 1% of your body weight per week if you're more than 100 pounds from your goal weight). The sooner you start your plan, the more you'll be able to lose by your wedding day!
Exercise Plans and Workout Information. Physical activity will help you burn calories, build lean muscle and tone up the trouble areas that your wedding gown shows off. SparkPeople offers hundreds of workouts, exercise articles, free fitness videos and a Fitness Tracker to help you start and sustain a sound exercise program—for life. Our meal plans were created by registered dietitians and meet the dietary guidelines for Americans. We also provide a calorie range based on your current weight and goal weight (to help you lose weight safely). You can access your meal plans by visiting your Nutrition Tracker page (found under the "My Trackers" tab at the top of the site). If you'd rather eat your own foods, that works, too. Feel free to turn off our meal plans and track your favorite foods. Be sure to visit our healthy recipe website to find new diet-friendly dishes to prepare (and track with a single click) and enter your own recipes to calculate the calories and nutrition per serving so you can stay on track.
Motivating Challenges. SparkPeople's program makes weight loss and healthy living fun. We offer challenges, fitness leaderboards, and SparkPoints to help you stay motivated to stick with your program.
