I LOVE cantaloupe so much!!! It's one of my favorites and I can't believe anybody who doesn't like it! LOL Thanks for the tips on how to pick a good one!!! I am going to have to make smoothie with some and some blueberries! Yum!
I didn't use to like cantelopes when I was younger but I like them now. They are not my favorite melon but I really like them when they are cubed & mixed in with other types of melon cubes. I had no idea they were that nutritious either so now I think I'll be making more melon fruit salads in the future for sure! Great article!
I have always loved canteloupe. Especially when they are in season. I just bought one yesterday. I can't wait to eat it for breakfast. YUM!!!!

I'm glad that I read that article. I love cantaloupes! I knew that they were healthy for you but I never knew they had that much nutritional value. My kids love them too so that is extra kudos!
I struck it rich today. 3 great nutrition articles. I also love cantelope and have heard so many rumors about what to look for when buying one, short of Rose on The Golden Girls taking her pocket knife out and tasting them. Let's see what happens next time I go to buy one. Also, the blueberry and cantelope smoothie sounds great. I actually bought a smoothie machine and was going to give it as a gift. It is mine now. Being on a gluten free diet, I can't wait to try the cantelope salsa, when cantelopes come into season.ty for another great article. nancylee46
Wow, thank you for this article! Melon *IS* my favourite fruit, so this has made me very happy indeed! And the salsa recipe looks LUSH!!! I honestly thought, however, it was a fruit with very little nutritional value, given it seems to be mainly water..... I'm delighted I'm wrong and will be indulging my fruity melon "vice"* much more often in the future!!!
* melon as a vice? Well, it's always felt a bit "naughty" to me as my father was highly allergic to it (weird I know - his throat used to swell up and he'd struggle to breathe if he accidentally ate some), so we didn't have it in the house when I was growing up.... but my mother and I would sometimes as a special "treat" buy and eat it when he wasn't around as "our little secret", lol.....
