  • Starting today I am not eating any processed food, it is a good place to start. Getting to whole foods and not the processed stuff should made a difference. Almonds are whole food and granola bars are processed food. Everyone needs fat in their diet, good for the brain. - 10/5/2014 5:08:19 AM
    I am having a very difficult time with what exactly is "healthy" food. Is nothing that comes easily healthy? Can I only eat fruit and veg? I look at the almonds at300 calories for 40%of my daily fat allowance and wonder if that is truly "healthy". Yes, I know its the right kind of fat but it is fat nonetheless! Is there any granola bar that would be classed as healthy? is there a resource that outlines what is "healthy"? Are there perameters set out somewhere? Can anyone help????? - 10/4/2014 1:36:40 PM
  • well, I am going to be brutally honest about my food intake. that is an eye opener!!!!! I am just starting, but I think the food is ultimately going to be the hardest for me. And here I thought I was eating healthy and my exercise was my problem. NOt!!!!!!!

    I just joined Spark a few days ago. I am writing everything I eat in a journal, and today I started walking, which I plan to do at least 5 days a week. I used to walk a half hour to an hour a day 4 years ago, but barely managed 15 minutes today. But it is a start and I am determined to get back to dedicated walking. Yay for me! - 9/7/2014 9:32:17 AM
    Yes, thanks for the birthday wishes and tips. I feel I truly want to get as healthy as I possibly can (without going insane trying to get there) this year. I just turned 64.     Yeah, one step a time!

    I recently try to cut my calories buy switching spaghetti with "vegetable" spaghetti.
    there are few tools for that, the one i use is a GNCHEF Spiral Slicer, you can get one on Amazon with less than 20 bucks.
