I'm not sure why I'm seeing complaints about this list not being "completely totally healthy." They're snack ideas. Some people like a treat now and again and don't want to blow all their calories in order to just have a bit of something sweet or savory." Does anyone really eat 100% totally healthy ALL the time? Their lives must suck, if they do. These are suggestions. You don't NEED to eat them. stop complaining and move on to the next article.

I badly need suggestions that are gluten-free and dairy free
As with anything you take what you think is good leave what you think is bad and move on. I might add that for some people the food items that don't seem so healthy to us are a fair bit more healthier that what they may be snacking on now. There was a time when my partner and I would throw a family sized bag of potatoe chips in a bowl then empty a bag of cookies around the edge and snack on that while we watched a movie.
I like this list, but to make some of them what I'd consider a "snack" I'd have to cut the portion in half. Who needs an entire cup of yogurt or applesauce in one sitting? (I'm assuming measuing cup, not the small plastic single serving container). A snack at 200 calories to me is begging to be rounded out and made a small meal. I am loving some of the suggestions closer to 100 calories though.
There are several I could just add a piece a fruit and I'd have breakfast. 2 whole grain waffles is a snack? Grab a banana and it's breakfast. Same with the oatmeal & english muffin. Others I could add veggies or lean protein for a nice lunch. I'm definately getting some ideas, but more for light meals than snacks.
And I'd have to argue with how "healthy" a few of these are. Homemade banana bread (cake), a fruit & nut bar (what kind? All fruit & nut bars I've seen are basically candy bars in a box), and pretzles?? Really? Calorie packed, high sodium carb bombs with no nutritional value. Now, you can eat just about anything in moderation, but just because it's a small portion doesn't mean you can call it healthy. :)
Well...I just was scanning through this....why bake a banana??? and the low fat Fudgecicle with almond butter!!!! WHAT??? Why would you put almond butter on a fudgecicle??? and how would you get it to stay if you wanted to?

I love the different snacks but a print out would be awesome.
If people only ate when they felt true hunger, few of us would struggle with our weight. So why (and where) are we eating so much, and what can we do about it? Start here.
