So true. That is what happened to me this past weekend. I am looking forward to trying out these tips. I think the weigh in on monday mornings is great. Right now I have been doing it friday mornings right before the weekend. Can't wait to see how I will do from here on out with these new tips.

it is a matter of perception. I have successfully maintained a healthy
lifestyle for nearly five years, by indulging myself on the weekends!

I know that the weekends are a time to relax and enjoy foods I
love with family and friends. I plan these days of splurging into
my very successful program (lost sixty pounds and maintained
it for over three years.) These meals are stress breakers for me.
As they are planned, I enjoy them without guilt and then return
to eating lighter meals during the week.

i was somewhat surprised and dismayed that there was no mention of some of the other bad habits that some my partake in that were not mentioned (like alcohol, etc).

Great list! And yes, indeed - weekends should have a hefty helping of rest 'n' relaxation built into their structure (or the lack of it) - I make time for a couple generous naps...without fail! It pays.

Yea the weekends are a problem for me too.. I thought this article gave great advice. I tend to feel like .."Oh well its the weekend"...a typical dieters philosophy. However, I'm learning now that it's a LIFESTYLE not a DIET. I think as I become more confident in this , my lifestyle on the weekends will also change.

Adopting that list! I had to get the attitude of I am entitled to weekends off out of my head! A healthy lifestyle is living well and wisely one day at a time. Thanks.. deb

These are great "tips." I do tend to relax on the weekends because I also try to accomplish things I can't get done during the week. But with these guidelines and tips, it will be an easier road to success. Thanks SP!

Sounds nice.. but my life doesn't revolve around a schedule of diet and the gym. I use the weekends, especially Saturdays to do things I don't have time for during the week, not sweating in the gym..
Healthy choices yes, but you have to take diet and exercise in moderation like everything else. and if you gain a pound because you ate what you wanted on Saturday night, then run a little farther on Monday.
