Very inspiring! I use an elliptical due to knee damage (elliptical choice was based on recommendation of doctor and physical therapist - less impact on my knee than walking). I hadn't considered DVDs before but now that knee is stronger perhaps it would be a way to go. Thanks for the ideas!

Thank you soooooooo much this help me out a lot. and lift up my spirits. cause that all i can do is walk on my treadmill due to a stroke i had in 06. and i did not think i could really lose weight like that but due to your story i now know that i can. thank you again Be Bless

I, too, have balance impairment and I trip a lot, even over 'nothing. I can so relate to Judi's article. Leslie's walking DVDs have been a Godsend for me. I have a bunch of them, time for me to get them out again and use them! Thanks for this article!
Thank you for the post. I really enjoy using Leslie Sansone too. I had to take some time off from working out due to two emergency surgeries, but recently purchased one of her videos to get going again.

Congratulations on your weight loss! I have also lost 60lbs and was very interested to read how you did it... I also lost the weight with Leslie Sansone DVDs!! She is so inspirational (ok, a bit cheesy, but I love it!). :)

Thanks Judi for your article and motivation. I have just about all of Leslie Sansone's Walking video and was worried that they would not be effective to help me lose weight. Now I see I was wrong. I will be using my Leslie's video regularly from now on.

I know the feeling I was 304, breast cancer twice in 2 years, also had brain operation..kept getting sick lost a little weight with cancer treatment..after treatments wanted to feel better, started watching what I was eating, started using my treadmill, at first just 10 mins a day perhaps once a week as I got stronger, 20 mins, with incline, now am 20 mins 4 days a week starting to in crease my speed and setting new goals..I now weight 261, dress size was 22-24 now wear 16-18 and a large shirt instead of 2 0r 3x...I feel so much better.

I'm using Leslie's Walk Away the Pounds DVDs also. I'm up to the 2 mile walk, every other day so far. I'm mostly at home because I'm caregiver for my Dad, who has dementia. I'm just not able to go to a gym or take a walk outside. I also have asthma and outdoors activities can often be a problem for me anyway. These DVDs are a perfect solution for me. I also like to do SP's Resistance Band workout on alternate days.
Judi! I completely agree with you! That is how I am doing it, already, too; before I, even, saw and read this article! I, too, have an auto-immune disease! Sarcoidosis! I, like you, am embarrassed about the way I look (especially, when exercising); and I don't like being stared at. I know my weight gain was due to the Steroids that I was put on; and, at first, I could not, even, exercise if I wanted to (because of balance, and control problems). Now, I am off the steroids (and found SparkPeople on May 8, 2012, when surfing the internet). I am doing my walking (privately), using my treadmill, sometimes, independently (just walking on it, uphill; I have it, purposely, set on a 10" incline); and, I , also, have the WII fitness program. I, too, have a balance problem; and, like you, trip a lot, even, over air (so I know, exactly, what you mean). Sometimes, I can't, even, walk straight; like I am drunk, or something. I, too, am working on reaching my goal in the privacy of my own home; and, am happy to have the support of SparkPeople, to share it with. Congratulations, on your weight loss, and success. One day, I will grow up, and be just like you! lol ;-)
