I recently wrote about 3 people from different parts of the Country who keep walking interesting by trying to walk every street in their town or city. I write about this interesting goal here - http://flowalking.com/2013/03/set-this-goa l-to-make-walking-fun-interesting-diff erent-every-day/
I've always wanted to try geocaching. Not really sure where to start... except maybe with a GPS unit.

I get a great walking workout with the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds videos - without leaving my house. She incorporates walking in place, walking forwards and backwards, side steps, knee lifts, kicks, even jogging in some videos.
She also includes upper body movements, changes of pace, and a cooldown & stretching segment. Who would ever think it's possible to get the equivalent of a 5-mile walk in 1 60-minute workout - all because of the pace of movement. Lots of motivation also.
I love walking in my pool. It's just one of the round, above ground pools. I usually walk about 10 times around, it really gets the water moving, I then turn around & walk against the current. By the time I get to 10 the current is going the direction I am, so I turn around again. I'll have to wait until June to be able to do that again!
I gotta tell you that you have too many of these multiple examples that do not add up to the right number...I tink I counted 9 examples 5 short of the promise. Oh well..
I live on 78 acres so i have a Great place to walk and Enjoy! Depending how i feel i have different routes some easier, some more strenuous and harder! I try to get in the Hills as much as possible! Every thing here is on an incline so its great and who needs a Gym when you have hills! Once in a while my energetic Cat Mr. BOB runs a long and will go a mile back to the woods! he goes up the trees and loves the hills! He looks down and if to say Hurry up Come on!!! I only wish i had all his energy id be.. slim! BONNIE
Over a year ago, I rescued a Great Pyranese from the dog pound. He is a wonderful companion, but not so good about a walking companion. He will walk to the stop sign and back, 1/2 mile, but if I try to go past the stop sign he will pull back or sit down!!! He refuses to go any further. Then he limps on his front paw for about a week. He is not a fast paced dog, but a dog that likes to see the country side.
I also like to look a birds and count how many different ones I see on my walks. If it is a long walk I like to think, pray or ponder certain subjects on my walks.
My husband and I take 3 mi. walks at least 5 days a week. We walk in a beautiful park that has many paths, woods, & hills. We have lots of options for our walks and do not get bored. A great workout.
Summer produce is overflowing--and cheap! Whether you grow it or buy it, it's easy to preserve your food so that you can save money and eat better long after the harvest is over.
