Don't Give Up on Your Goals!

I just went to the doctor last week and while I thought I had lost 21 lbs, he said I had actually lost 25. So I was elated. But for the last week and a half I've been slacking off. Not planning anything. I still have quite a way to go and guess what? I've been cruising on my success. And gained 2 lbs back. This article couldn't have come at a better time!! Thank you!
Thank you Nicole!!! After a month of nursing my daughter back to health after surgery and not having time to take care of self I needed to hear this. It was so encouraging--especially the perfection part. I'm looking forward to doing your 15 minute jump rope routine this afternoon ;)
I broke my arm about a month ago and lost all momentum. Since I'm right-handed and I broke my right arm, there was much I couldn't do and things that I could took a lot longer. I got very frustrated and discouraged, comfored myself with food, and really backslid on the exercise. The cast should come off in about a week but I can start with some of these suggestions today. This will definitely be a "favorite". Thanks!!
Wow Nicole were you sitting in my head transcribing the thoughts onto paper. Thanks for a wonderful article. If I don't motivate from this.....then I must be dead. SP is a wost wonderful and caring place when trying to lose weight. When you think you've reached all you can do, suddenly there is a hand to pull you up in the form of an article, a friendly email etc. Eternally grateful to all the SP.

THANK YOU - this was oh-so-perfectly timed! I've been stuck for about a year, just spinning my wheels, backsliding a bit.... No more - back to the work at hand!
Two more things: decide to let go of perfectionism--the biggest enemy of a diet and exercise program. Also: if you suspect you have fallen into depression, get it treated, or you will never find the motivation and energy to do anything else.
