  • There is no substantive research which validates the 64 ounces of water per day mantra so I am curious as to why this is a recurring "requirement" in the various forums. Bottled water is a rip off, is expensive and is ecological unsound considering the empty water bottles scattered all over the landscape.     I purchased a glass water infuser and place lemons, or fruits or cucumbers in the infuser and it gives my water a great taste, this way I find I drink more water :) - 5/24/2016 9:57:57 AM

    Don't believe it, as long as you drink something and get liquids in every day, there is no magic in 8 cups of water! 3 dietitians told me not to make a big deal out of this old wives tale. It's what and how much you eat that makes you lose weight! I'm not saying to drink colas, but 8 cups of water is no magic rule. - 5/24/2016 9:18:42 AM
  • There is no scientific / medical report stating you HAVE to drink 8 glasses / cups of water a day. The article does state, however, the best interests toward one's health is stay hydrated much as possible. And yes, I drink rather several cups a day, I don't keep count, I continue to fill when my glass is empty.

  • I love cold, fresh water. Not from my tap though. I have the filter that runs through my fridge. Best investment ever. Even my dogs get the filtered stuff. Our regular water smells like a swimming pool.

    I really love the idea about tagging your water bottle, because I have been trying to drink more water to be healthier. I especially love the part about putting an inspirational sticker on it and so maybe I can find a good quote about empowerment and healthy living to put on there.   • I have always hated the water at my house, even using a water filter, but, my work has a water cooler and has spring water delivered every few weeks. It tastes better and that has helped change my thinking from "I hate water" to knowing I need certain types of water.

    I bought a clear thermos to work and find that seeing the water in it helps me remember to drink it. I fill it up one more time before going home and it does help to keep me away from higher calorie drinks.

  • I'm not a big water drinker. I find it boring, so I have to spruce it up. I buy True Citrus (crystallized citrus) to add to my water. It comes in lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit. They also make powder for drinks, but it does add a few calories. Lots of options with little to no calories. I'm a big lime fan, and I also found a watermelon lime zinger tea that is awesome. Having a bigger water bottle is daunting to me, and it never seems to empty! Eight glasses goes quicker for me if it's just eight ounces at a time.   • For a couple of years now, I've started to drink 2 cups of water right after I wake up. This is mainly because I realized my body is dehydrated (acknowledging the urine color as well) after 8-9 hours of sleep haha. Though I did start slow, I started with drinking one cup of water after getting up and by that time it was hard to stomach. Eventually I got use to it and started getting comfortable with drinking 2 cups of water. It makes me feel my system has been cleansed! - 3/18/2016 4:48:58 PM
