  • I add Benefiber to my water and get my fiber quota for the day at the same time. I find it fills me up and helps with cravings. - 8/19/2016 6:04:20 AM
A voice of warning: if you have a tendency to form kidney stones, DO NOT use powdered vitamins or other powdered stuff : those are big nonos for us. - 7/20/2016 3:32:56 PM
Don't make a big deal out of it, you don't HAVE to drink 8 cups, no matter what these people tell you. If you are not comfortable, don't do it. - 7/4/2016 11:42:24 AM
  • I don't drink water because my body needs more of it - I drink water because it replaced other habits of shoving something (caloric and unnecessary) into my face.

The big challenge, not addressed in this article, is the constant running to the bathroom. I simply can't drink this much water when I'm away from home, because it sends me to the bathroom more often than hourly, and I only get breaks at work ever 67 minutes; bathrooms are often farther apart than that when out shopping or wandering a park... - 7/4/2016 10:41:04 AM
  • Glad I already do most of these ideas, but there was a couple that I will try! Good tips! - 7/4/2016 10:17:49 AM

Perhaps the people who sell bottled water in Plastic bottles might tell you it had to be bottles instead. - 6/15/2016 7:26:19 PM
  • There is no substantive research which validates the 64 ounces of water per day mantra so I am curious as to why this is a recurring "requirement" in the various forums. Bottled water is a rip off, is expensive and is ecological unsound considering the empty water bottles scattered all over the landscape. Purchase a stout reusable container and if you dislike your tap water filter it or flavour it to your taste. - 5/24/2016 1:05:44 PM
I purchased a glass water infuser and place lemons, or fruits or cucumbers in the infuser and it gives my water a great taste, this way I find I drink more water :) - 5/24/2016 9:57:57 AM
Don't believe it, as long as you drink something and get liquids in every day, there is no magic in 8 cups of water! 3 dietitians told me not to make a big deal out of this old wives tale. It's what and how much you eat that makes you lose weight! I'm not saying to drink colas, but 8 cups of water is no magic rule. - 5/24/2016 9:18:42 AM
  • There is no scientific / medical report stating you HAVE to drink 8 glasses / cups of water a day. The article does state, however, the best interests toward one's health is stay hydrated much as possible. And yes, I drink rather several cups a day, I don't keep count, I continue to fill when my glass is empty.

I drink lots of water every day. I usually have trouble remembering to log it. - 4/12/2016 3:07:16 PM
I really love the idea about tagging your water bottle, because I have been trying to drink more water to be healthier. I especially love the part about putting an inspirational sticker on it and so maybe I can find a good quote about empowerment and healthy living to put on there. I really think that doing that will encourage me to drink more water, but do you think that there is a specific type of water bottle that I should be getting as well?

  • If anyone struggles with the taste of water, KEEP TRYING DIFFERENT BRANDS or have your water tested and get a good filter.
