OH, I have to weigh myself at least once a week but the secret to a great weekend, LOL! I weigh myself and count it on Thursday, LOL! SO if I am going away I can see the results and be happy on Thursday, LOL!

Great job on your weight loss Diva. 8 pounds! Cool. I weigh in each day. Now I am used to the ups and downs but it helps me to stay on track at night (my worst eating time). I know eating a bunch of food before bed makes the scale go up. Its a trick.

Hello
I don't like to weigh myself every week especially if I go away for the weekend as I have been doing twice now since joining SparksPeople. I stay in a hotel and eat there and am hungry...I am not walking enough when I'm there because after a day of shopping for a condominium I don't really feel like exercising. I have a pair of shorts with a button and I know if I lose because I can button up...then I will weigh myself probably every two weeks...

I've thrown out my scale. I only weigh myself at the gym...if I wanna know I got to haul myself to the gym. It is a win-win situation.

I read a great article which validated how I felt about the fact that I weigh myself everyday. I mean you always hear that it is obsessive to weigh every day, but I did not really commit until I started to do that. I learn all about my fluctuations in weight, why and can see the inching up or down when my habits change. It has been a lifesaver. There was nothing more devastating then doing a week of program and then BAM I gained weight. Well now I know that can be all kinds of things and I see it coming.

Starvin Poet,
Hi. One challenge I would like to do is not weigh myself multiple times daily. I would like to only weigh a few times a week because the scale can go crazy up and down during the day which a lot of times is just water weight. I think morning is the best time only because its the lowest and that what I want to see on my scale.

I weigh myself every morning but I only record it every Thursday. I like to make sure I'm still on track and I find checking in every morning is a motivator for me. I measure every Thursday, too. I weigh in the morning, not the evening, before I've eaten or worked out...but like someone said earlier, it doesn't really matter what time of day you weigh yourself as long as it's the same time everyday so it's consistant.

I weigh in the mornings, that's when I get the best numbers. But really, I don't think it matters what time of day you weigh, just be consistent.

I find myself weighing two to three times a week. I don't think I'm obsessed, just curious.

Since my bathroom scale is exactly that, I tend to weigh myself many times a day. But I only record the weight on Saturday mornings, and that is when I also measure myself. What I would like to know is what do you guys think is the right time of the day to weigh oneself.
Looking forward to a reply to this.

Wow, my thinnest time of the month is just before. I'm sure I still gain water like everyone, but I loost appetite and naturally eat less. Must ofset somehow.

I just started, but I plan to weigh in at least twice a week - just to stay motivated. It's a great boost to see a pound drop. I look forward to it. I used to weigh myself everyday a long time ago. I was curious to see how my body changed throughout the week and even day - I lost interest eventually. I don't think "scale obsession" is a big problem unless it makes you feel poorly about yourself and your progress. If that is indeed the case, then throw it away and only weigh yourself at the gym.

I think I'm addicted to my scale. I weighed in last Thursday, and couldn't wait till this thursday so I weighed today. Help! Anyone else addicted to their scale? How do I break this?

Same here. I actually skip my weigh in if I know I'm about to start. I just hate to see that higher number even though I know it's just water.

That's a good question. My doctor says, I should weigh myself once a week. However, I don't like to weigh in before that time of the month, since I can gain up to 6lbs in water weight, but it comes off shortly after I start. Blossom1

Hi, I have been dieting for about a month now. I have lost about 5 pounds all together. From last Friday to this Friday, I lost about a pound. According to those here at SparkPeople, that is good. Should I continue to weigh once a week, or once every two weeks, or once a month? I have been execising. I have an exercise bike. I ride 5 miles on it in the mornings, which takes me about 30 minutes to do. If I were to do that 3 times a day would it make a big difference in my weight loss? Thank You, Vickie
