SUE~ FLAD YOU GOT SOME EXERCISING IN. AND HOPE THE DAYS GET BETTER. I MYSELF MIGHT HAVE TO LEAVE THIS THREAD. THE EYES JUST DON'T CUT IT AND THE ADVICE IS TO USE THE PC EVEN LESS....THE LIGHTED SCREEN IS KILLING ME NO MATTER WHAT I DO. SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE. WE WILL SEE.

Hi Melody,
Today is one of those days I'll be doing my exercises but out of routine because my heart wants to say toheck with it all but my faith says keep going ...this too shall pass.
I do feel physically better and rested but emotionally I'm exhausted. Hope everything goes well with you today.

RAINY TODAY SO I WILL GET TO CLEANING ONE OF THE BEDROOM CLOSETS AND PEDAL FOR 15 MINUTES. THE CLOSETS WILL BE MY OVERHEAD stretching FOR THE WEEK!!!

Not in a very good mood today...very depressed over the drinking and just living with an alcoholic. want out but can see no way clear to find financial or place to go. Going to just lay,low and hope this will pass....

SUE HOPE THE A/C GOT SORTED OUT! STAY COOL!! GOING TO BE HOT AND MUGGY HERE FOR AWHILE.

WENT FOOD SHOPPING AND WILL COOK FOR MYSELF THIS SUMMER. EVERYONE IS GONE FOR 2 MONTHS. LOVE THE PEACE AND QUIET!! ROFLMAO
JUST DID SOME PEDALING A WHILE AGO AND NOW WILL TAKE A QUICK NAP. OVERDID IT A BIT WITH THE OUTDOORS! AIR IS NOT GREAT OUT THERE.

Melody,
I am having a topsy turvy Monday. The landlord is putting a new AC in my bedroom tody and it a trapesing back and forth all morning. I am sure glad it finally gettin done but I hate the disheavaled mess it makes when things are in the fix it stage. I know it's my perfectionism and I have to deal with that.

Haven't started my exercises yet because of all the traffic but will as soon as the world turns back to normal.

I HAVE ALREADY PEDALED AND AM ON A BREAK FROM HELPING OUT IN THE OFFICE DOWNSTAIRS. THEY ARE SHORTHANDED AGAIN.
HOPE YOU BOTH ARE WELL. I WENT DOWN TO THE STORE EARLY MORNING WITH A FRIEND AND IT WAS GORGEOUS. NOW HEATING UP AND GETTING A BIT MUGGY FOR MY LIKING!!

LOOKS LIKE SUE AND I HAD SIMILAR DAYS. TODAY WAS ALSO SORTING OUT AND MOVING OVER HERE. I MOVED THE CEDAR CHEST TO MAKE A SPACE WHERE THE OTHER wheelchair CAN BE CHARGED UP. GOTTA LOVE POWER CHAIRS....THEY'RE LIKE TONKA TRUCKS!! I JUST PUSH EVERYTHING AROUND. IF IT CAN SLIDE, I CAN MOVE IT! LOL
TOMORROW I MIGHT BE GOING TO A MALL TO DO SOME SHOPPING. IF SO, I WILL CHECK IN LATE IN THE DAY.
HAVE A GOOD NIGHT AND LET'S START THIS WEEK OFF WITH GOOD ACTIONS!!

Hello girls,
We kind of got buried ...I had to go to page three to find our thread.

Todays been a hard working day for me. I had to help my husband move some furniture and switch out dressers and night stand. I my Gosh...I have too much stuff!!! I really should have thrown some of it out but I'll go through it again when I'm not so pooped. I even forgot all about lunch Had it late so dinner is going to be late too. I'm not skipping meals cause that's where I've gone wrong before. It seems if I skip a meal I'm hungry for it for days after. I'll be up late anyway cause I slept so late.

Hope everything is going well with both of you and be sure to post...God Bless....

FEELING VERY EUPHORIC TODAY FOR SOME REASON. MAYBE BECAUSE YESTERDAY I SHARED THOUGHTS WITH A FRIEND ON THE PHONE. "LIGHTENING THE LOAD" CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN HOW A DAY CRAWLS ALONG.
A NON-EXERCISING DAY FOR ME ALSO. SO I AM GOING TO TRY SOME MEDITATION NOW ON THE WEEKENDS ON WWW.BELIEFNET.COM
THEY HAVE ACTUAL SOUND BITES THERE TO USE. I USED TO LOVE IT BUT I LET "LIFE" GET IN THE WAY!!! BACK TO BASICS.
HOPE YOU ARE BOTH HAVING A WONDERFUL WEEKEND.

NANCY I HOPE YOU AND THE DUMBELLS MADE FRIENDS!! AND THAT YOU OPENED UP THE TAPE!!! YOU SOUND A LOT LIKE ME!!! HAVE FUN.

I HAVE HEARD FROM OTHERS WHO MOVED TO FLORIDA WITH SIMILAR STORIES. SSI TOLD ME THAT MY DD AND I COULD MOVE TO ANY STATE AS WE COME WITH PAPERS..LIKE PEDIGREES!!! LOL WISHING YOU WELL.

Hi Melody and Sue. This is a non-exercise day for me. Or I should say non-walking day. I'm going to dust of my little dumbbells (1 lb.) and do some chair exercise. I have an chair exercise video that I've never even opened yet.

Melody, sorry to hear you are having vision problems. I know that has to be frustrating.

Sue, I hate dealing with big organizations or government agencies. So much red tape and no one seems to care. It's amazing how different each state is.

Isn't it nice to know it's Friday and we still made it through another whole week. I do my exercises today then don't do them again til Mon. I miss them on the weekend but I don't want to screw things up with being obsessive so I'll stick to the plan.
I can understand the eyesight problem...this diabetes has really robbed me of my eyesight. I had my eyes examined and a new prescription but can't afford these prices they want for glasses anymore. I lost my medicad coverage when I moved back to Fla. They don't even let me get SSI here because they say my husband and I make too much money for the month. $994. doesn't even allow us the cost of prescription copay. They need to check their living expenses again I think.!! In California they paid for everything including someone to come into our home and cook and clean for us, and take us to our appts. and the store. Fla. is a cheap state!!! They don't have any dental here and yet in Calif. I had ooodles of work done on my teeth. Oh well, that's my complaint for the day...LOL now I'll have a good day from here on out. God Bless both of you and take care. Hope you still check in over the weekend. Bye for now....

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
I WAS GLAD TO SEE THE SUN OUT EVEN IOF IT IS STILL OVERCAST HERE. LOTS OF COOLER WEATHER. I MET AN OLD DR FRIEND OF MINE IN THE LOBBY AND HE SAID 5 DAYS A WEEK WOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH AND TO PICK ANY ONES I LIKE. I LIKE MON-FRI AND HE SAID FINE. BUT I GOT A LECTURE ON USING THE "BREATHING BULB" MORE OFTEN. IT'S THE KID THEY USE TO RESUCITATE PEOPLE WITH. IT'S TO FORCE AIR INTO MY LOWER LUNGS AND KEEP ME FROM BEING TOO SHALLOW A BREATHER. I AM BAD AT USING IT!!! BUT I DO DUST IT OFF EVERY WEEK WHERE IT HANGS!!

SUE~ IT'S GOOD TO HAVE TIME OFF AND I AM SURE YOU FIND PLENTY TO KEEP BUSY! LOL GOOD LUCK WITH THE BLOODWORK WHEN YOU GO. I HATE FASTING ALSO!! MAKES ME FEEL ILL BUT I TAKE FOOD WITH ME AND THE MINUTE THAT NEEDLE IS OUT, I EAT!! ROFL

Good Morning Girls,
Glad to see you are in movement today. This is one of my rest days. I do my exercises Mon., Wed. , and Fri. They don't have you do them on consecutive days. It's alright, I always find something to keep me busy on those rest days. Besides, I still have to stick to the food plan and drink all the water. I have slacked up on the water the last couple of days and need to get back to the 8 cups a day again.
I baked some whole wheat, oalmeal raisin muffins yesterday. It will be easier to get my carbs in the mornings now. I get tired of the same old thing and these I know there only good stuff in them. I need to get my blood work done. Guess I'll have to get started earlier one day next week and get down to do it. I hate missing breakfast and coffee and having to go out and face the world. They should find an easier way of taking our blood. Maybe just give us the stuff to do it. Oh...YUK!! no way would I be able to stick that thing in me!!!Ouch.
Have you had a chance to visit my sparks page yet? There are pictures of Hurricane Katrins coming on land in Mississippi. They are awesome.

I WILL GOOGLE THE walking STICKS SO I CAN SEE WHAT NANCY IS UP TO.
I AM GOING TO PEDAL AND THEN SOME OVER THE HEAD STORING IN MY CLOSET. SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO GET ME GOING. TRYING TO DO SOMETHING EVERY DAY LIKE IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME. NOT BUILDING MUSCLE(I CAN'T) BUT TRYING TO KEEP THE ONES I HAVE FOR AS LONG AS I CAN WITHOUT WEARING THEM OUT. THERE IS A VERY FINE LINE THERE AND I HOPE TO FIND IT! LOL

Nancy,
Good for you!!! I'll be right behind you as soon as I can do some walking again. I figure it will take about another 30#'s and I should be able to do some walking with my walker. We can do it even with our disabilities. Let go for it!!!!
We're ready now for exercise and next to rule the world!!!! Well, I do tend to get a little carried away! Maybe just exercise....God Bless....

Hi. You both have me inspired to get off my behind and give it a try. I'm able to walk, but often have to use a cane. Some days are better than others. I have nerve damage from cervical problems and two surgeries that cause me to stumble and drag my left leg. And my balance is not good. I just purchased some Nordic walking sticks that really help me with the balance problems. My goal will be to start a walking program with my sticks. I'm going to start slowly, because if I over-do it, my leg starts dragging more the next day.

Well, for today it's 25 each of seated pushups, crunches, seated leg lifts, twisting with med ball. Then my exercises the therapist gives me with 25 each: neck twists, head tilts, chin tucks and shoulder blade crunches. Plus stetching before and after. Three days a week.
I have to do the last from injury to my neck in accident. They straightened out my neck bone that's supposed to be curved by putting too much weight while in traction. I get tremendous headaches if I don't keep up the exercises.
Glad you were here today. I can keep up with someone anyway! LOL have a great rainy day ...it's supposed to storm here today also. At least nothing is pressing to go outside. I do have to go get blood work one morning but it won't be today. God Bless....

I am doing my exercises also and hurt my back the other day but still did all but the twist. I wish for us both to meet our own challenges everyday. You are my inspiration so stay around and we'll work together on this. God Bless....

HI SUE MY NAME IS MEL AND I AM IN A WH.CHAIR FULL-TIME WITH A MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY CONDITION. I LOST 30 LBS AND SEEM TO BE STUCK HERE SINCE 2003! LOL BUT A FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT SPARKS AND I AM HERE TO TRY AGAIN. IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED, I WILL JUST HAVE TO CHALLENGE YOU RIGHT BACK!! I AM OFF TO GO AND DO MY PEDALING RIGHT NOW!! HI, MY NAME IS SUELIV AND I'M DISABLED IN A wheelchair MOST OF THE TIME. I STILL WANT SO BADLY TO GET MY HEALTH BACK. WHO KNOWS...AFTER I LOSE SOME POUNDAGE I MIGHT BE ABLE TO WALK SOME DISTANCE AGAIN WITH LESS WEIGHT ON MY KNEES AND HIPS!!

I DO EXERCISES THREE TIMES A WEEK IN MY CHAIR AND I HAVE REALLY NOTICED THE DIFFERENCE IN MY STAMENA. I CHALLENGE ANYONE DISABLED PHYSICAL OR MENTAL TO DO SOME KIND OF EXERCISE AT LEAST THREE TIMES A WEEK.
