Shawna.. you are an inspiration... I am a 10 now and I can't remember the last time I was an 8, I think I was in high school! I am aiming for that goal though.. it is funny... when I was 150 (about 9 years ago).. I was a 10... so this is all new terratory for me... I was pretty athlectic back then.. so not sure how my body has changed... I wonder if clothes are sized differently these days...

anyway... congrats on the 6's!!! that is incredible... It keeps me inspired and makes me want to be 'unstuck'.

Wow, Shawna that all sounds so exciting! You go girl! I'm still trying to get into those 8's. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever see them again! Will keep trying though.

Hi guys!!! I, too, have been sort of MIA around here. Work is really busy this week and DH is in Norway. My girlfriend loaned their dog (she's actually a littermate of Ripley's - my girl we had to put down last month) while he's out of town...this is the first time I've been 'alone' (aka: no dogs at all) for more than a weekend in almost 14 years. So Dizzy is doing a great job babysitting me. I've done pretty well, not stressing over being without my beloved dogs while he's gone - no freaky eating or anything like that. So, though I've not posted on the boards much, I've been trying really hard to watch my p's and q's.

I've not changed weight much over the last few weeks and I don't think my measurements have changed much ... but I'm going to re-measure either Sunday or Monday ... BUT I've managed [somehow] to now wear my 10s pretty baggy. So I went shopping last night and bought some SIZE EIGHTS!!!!! I've now officially gone down 2 sizes (and, believe me: it was to the point that I was stretching those 12s to their outer limits)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was one pair of pants that the 8s were just a tad too big on me and I really liked them. SO I BOUGHT THE 6s. OMG, I truly cannot remember the last time I wore a six. I think I was in my early 20s (yeah, I know, I'm only 36 - not old, but still!).

I've read everyones posts and I'm with all the stuck ones...sucks but we cannot give up! Wendy, thank God you guys are ok after the accident. All you other guys, let's keep it up. There's power in numbers and none of us is going to let anyone else falter!

Y'all stay strong and I'll try to keep up more with the posts!

I'm going to say that my goal is to lose 70 lbs by next Mother's Day. I've got to be realistic. It took me a long time to gain it and I'm going to take awhile to lose it. I've got to stop going to the extreme with the calories.

Well i guess I've caught up with my workouts today! They say exercise is suppose to help raise your spirits right? Well today started off with a flat tire--so I did a 50 minute workout at Curves. Then my DD called with a problem from school--so I did a 35 minute aerobic step video. Then the doctor called with more bad news--so I went walking, in the rain, with a friend for 1 1/2 hours!! I did have a big hunk of choc. cake for dessert, but I think I might be ok today lol! Lets see if I can't keep going this week. It would be so nice to be able to make my goal even though i am so far behind.

I'm trying to get back into the spark routine this week. I sort of fell out of it for the past week or two. I got in 4 miles on the tm yesterday and today and I'm back to tracking the food. I doubt I will meet my original goal, but I hope to at least have a small loss.

T4C - Yeah for you!!!!

For everyone who is STUCK, like me, let's try to "kick it up a notch" (if I can borrow that from Emeril)!

I skimmed the posts I've missed. I'm sorry I can't reply to all--I'm so proud of everybody for learning lessons and making progress, however large or small! I'm pleased by the loss this week, but I honestly don't think I quite deserve it!

My daughter and I did start running and we're keeping it up. I've committed to entering the race and I'm not going to be embarrassed by either not running or by finishing anywhere over 40 minutes!!! My goal is to run the 5k in 30 minutes...

We've been very, very busy (other daughter's track meets) so my dinners are much smaller and more nutritious. (nuts and fruit and veg that we take on the go. NO CONCESSION STAND JUNK! even thought the walking taco's smell oh-so-good) I suppose jumping up and down cheering for four hours is good for burning calories also...

The stressful issues I need to focus on are still there and getting worked on, but for some reason I'm not using food to deal with them anymore. I have no idea why and I wish I did for two reasons--first so I could share the knowledge and help others, and second to be sure I never, ever start doing it again!

Anyway, I'll try to visit a little more often, but if I can't please know I'm doing okay and I'm with all of my Spark Friends in spirit!

Sorry, haven't had time to read through the posts. I hope everyone is doing well, both with their weight loss and personal lives! Hopefully, I will be able to start keeping up to date soon. You all definately help keep me going!

Yes, stuck would be the word for me as well. Up 1/2 # but I'm not complaining as I haven't been watching what I was eating this week. Back to calls from the high school nurse--now my daugher is having major problems with her vision and passed out one night at a friends! It never ends! Off to yet another specialist yesterday--vision this time, and waiting for a neuro opthalmologist appt in may. I just wish they could figure out what was wrong with her so we could work towards a treatment!!!Aargggh! Sorry, needed to vent. I'm having a harder time making time for me--(the reason I haven't been posting very often). I'm a strong person, but after close to 2 years of trying to help my daughter---its getting old--I'm getting tired:(

Shay...thanks for the words of encouragement. Your right, no one was injured. All is much better now. Don't worry about yesterday, I know exactly what your talking about. This happens to us all:) It will be better for you today.
If you don't mind me asking, what is the FIRM dvd all about? Is it toning, aerobic, dance, ect? Most importantly is it fun and will you make a habit of it? Please let me know.

Hi everyone - sorry I haven't been posting much - work is REALLY busy right now, so I don't get the chance to log on during the day much, and I was really neglecting my family for a while when I would run upstairs and onto the computer a bunch of times all night long to post, read posts, log my food etc, so I have cut back on my time online each day.

Anyway - a pretty good week - 1.5 pounds, not exceptional, but I'll take it!

OK, I fell completely off the wagon last night. We had a food day at work and all day I did so good, stayed away, only ate the raw veggies that someone brought. But then I worked OT last night, and I was kind of mad at hubby so then I ended up eating a handful of wheat thins, then another handful, then a couple handfuls of Ritz Toasted Chips. Then I went home and had a bowl of ceral and then some cheese and crackers. Then I went to bed before I did too much more damage. I know I could have been eating a lot worse things. But I just kind of over did it. I just felt like I could not get enough. But it is still early in the week and today is a new day and I am back on track!!

mopsmom3--you are where I would love to be weight wise! I just remember all the points on my journey UPWARD and thinking--"oh I am so fat!" and now I would love to be 179 or 169 or 159...It is all about perspective, eh? I have my health and my great husband and kids, and if I just make better choices and not be so critical of me, then in time I will be 189. 179, 169 again, right?

Hi to all, we're all in this together so don't mind the up's and downs, that's life. Read the diet rage article on SP, it may get us all over feeling like we're not going anywhere but we are just slowly. Don't get discourage, we didn't gain this weight overrnight, so it's taking us a little longer to get the hang of getting it of. We can do it.

i got new medication today, maybe my fibro will stop making me so tired and i will be able to exercise.
I just have to kick myself and just do it.

Wendy, sorry to hear about the wreck.Thank the Lord you're ok. I know what you mean about things happening and it all seems too much. Remember, you WILL get through it. My eating today was ok until I went to McDonalds. smh I had the chicken sandwhich, small fry and cinnamelt.To make it so bad it wasn't even good. *Sigh...anywho, the good news is I bought one of The Firm DVDs and did my first serious workout in what seems like forever.I have to look at what I did right today. If I look at my short comings I know I'll repeat myself tomorrow. That's something I really dont want to see happen.

Hey Everyone,
How are you all doing? I had a rough weekend! I think I eat everything in sight and my biggest downfall is chips and dip and I think I eat 3/4 of a bag on Sunday alone. I wrecked my car on Saturday afternoon and was just completely down in the dumps for the last 2 1/2 days. The damage to mine was small but the other vehicle is bad. Always something right. My husband always reminds me that the good Lord will never give you more than you can handle. This is true, but somedays it seems to be pushed to the maximum extent. I'm much better today. Things happen, it will only get better from here. Anyway, I was too embaressed to record anything I ate over the weekend because everything was so unhealthy and blah. So far this week I've done very well, so I hope to stay that way. Hope all is well with everyone else. Have a good night.

hi everyone - just a drive by for me - I'm at work and limited time today - very busy week oldest dd is moving out of her dorm and into her first apartment - can we say stress for mom??? well that is where I am right now - I just want it to be over so I can get back on a schedule and feel normal again - haha if that is possible for me. . .stay strong everyone you are doing so great!!!

Hi guys,
I am the one week wonder... I need to start posting more often! I am so stagnant (seems to be some trends aroudn here). I started working out again and I am so upset taht I have STUCK!!!
my weight today is 175.4. I think that is up one pound from last week. It is so frustrating because Saturday I was 172.2 (I could smell 169...)now I'm 6 pounds away from that again! UGH!!!!

AAM -- My b-day is the day before yours... it is actually on Mother's day this year! (5/13)....

I have planned a trip to Key West on 5/21 and I am desparate to lose some weight before then!

I'm going back to the basics! I am going to check in daily! I need to do something.

Thank you all so much for the words of encouragement. You guys are the best! I like the idea of "renting" those couple pounds. :) I do my long walks on the weekend, so maybe I should consider switching up my calories during the week to have more on the weekend. I walk 4 miles on Saturday and 8-14 miles Sunday. Those are the only two days of the week where I walk back to back. Thanks for the suggestion, Michele.

You guys are all so inspirational!

I mean I am reading down your list and adding up the pounds you've all lost and it looks so easy and many of you are so hard on yourselves! I have been so hard on myself and it was really easy for me to see it in this site, we all need to remember to look at the big picture and give ourselves more "atta girls", cuz you all are doing great! I am late to join this, but will say that I will shoot for 189 by Mother's Day. I have a history of being good for 3 weeks and then taking 2 weeks off, so we'll see. I am new to sparks since March, but loving it so far.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi all,
I don't know why this happens to me on every challenge. I start off with good intentions and then midway, I lose my steam, get burnt out, or something...

Seems that I missed out on AAM's pledge and Darcy's weekend dilemma.

DARCY - you know you're one of my heroes. With all of the training that you're doing, your body is probably calling for more food. Do you do your long walks on the weekends? It may mean that you have "budget" your food to allow enough to keep you satisfied on those days.

FLORAL - hang in there. You are at a loss for this challenge... this is a marathon, and there are plenty, PLENTY of days before you to continue to lose. Keep at it girl!!!

Hang in there Flo. A 3 pound loss is better than a gain any day. Have you tried measuring yourself? Even at my weight, I've gained pounds but lost inches. Try not to get frustrated. You're doing great!

Hi everyone Darcy we all go through that just don't think that you gained it. Look at it like this you needed to do that for what ever the reason now your back on track so just rent the 2lbs. You worked to hard to beat your self up. I'm down 1.2 and did cardio 3times last week

All i lose since we started is 3 lbs
I am not doing good, I do feel too tired to exercise and this way i am not losing
i have to do regular arobic to lose.
My fibro is getting in the way.
well change my medication maybe it will heplp
