My calorie range this week is between 1650 & 2000 to maintain with 2000 cardio calories.

Weekly Average - 2073.7 - Goal is to stay in my maintenance range for the week.

Nah - I'm not worried - I've been this high before and been just fine. I splurged (alot) last night when I went out to dinner with dd and my boyfriend PLUS I had alot of mixed nuts earlier in the day. I think my "out of control" week is done - :) I did oversleep on Saturday and missed my strength class so I could have been at 1200 calories burned for the day but ended up over 800 with a Hip Hop/Latino cardio class and 25 mins on the elliptical.

Robin - WAY TO GO!!! Doesn't feeling stronger just give you such a great boost??

Becky - well - wow! 2600?? LOL. Yeah - a 4 lb gain ain't too bad then! You'll have it off - I'm not worried about it.

Amanda - is it possible that you aren't losing because you just aren't eating enough for your body? I did some math (I have a spreadhseet and I just punch #'s in) and you're right at the 2 lb a week loss rate but sometimes that can be too much of a deficit especially if you are exercising alot. I don't know if you want to maybe up your calories just a tad to be closer to a 1700 - 1800 average. At your burn rate, when I was doing the same amount, I was eating at 1800 calories and losing on average 1-1.5 pounds a week. Watch the sodium intake when you eat more though - that's gotten me at times. One more thing then I'll shut-up - are you weight training? If you are then you may be gaining muscle and also, if you're gaining muscle then you may need more calories to feed the muscle. OR - it could just be an unexplained phase your body is going thru right now and if you just keep at it everything will work out in the end. :)

Thank you for the welcome. I see that you have loosing a lot of weight.
My calorie range is between 1200-1550. I got an injury that have been preventing me of doing exercise, but I hope that this week the doctor allows me to star again.

I'm back from my winter holiday travels and eager to start counting again. I gained a bit while I was away, so now I need to work it off! Lots of exercise in my future for the rest of the week.

Well, I did okay at dinner. But a few of my friends and I decided to go for drinks afterwards. I would have still been fine if I had kept it at one or two, but I didn't. We all got fabulously smashed and I did not come close to staying in range.

Still my weekly average isn't too bad. So it's okay.

Well. . . not a perfect week, but much better than I've done in months--AND I ended up in range for my average and got my exercise in as planned.

I actually calculated that in the last 2 months, my calorie average was almost 2,600/day!! That's 500 calories more per DAY than I need for maintenance. So in theory, that would be 30,000 extra calories over the 2 months--which would be a 9lb gain!! that's if I was exercising as I was supposed to be, which I wasn't, for at least 3 weeks. So I guess I shouldn't be too upset by the 4lb gain since it still let me stay in my maintenance range.

I'm looking forward to another good week!! See y'all there!

p.s. Renee--thanks for sharing the gym story! That's awesome!! I love the motivational "before and after" stories. You really have undergone a transformation! Maybe you'll share before and after pics with us some time?

Becky - thanks for the advice. I would be fine with where I am at eating and exercise wise except that I am not losing weight at all! I have actually gained a few pounds. I wish the heart rate and breathing stuff were under control - It still happens all the time but I just stop when it gets out of control. I get more bloodwork done this week then go back to the cardiologist in 3 weeks. I sure hope he can figure something out!

I went to the other gym tonight and worked out on the weight machines I was using back in August. I could not believe the difference between then and now! On the Abductor and Adductor machines I was using 45 lbs in August, today I had to set the weights at 80 lbs. On the chest press I had been setting it to 20 lbs, and that was a struggle, today I had it at 35, and could possibly gone to 40...every machine I got on I was able to raise the weights dramatically from what I was using when the old gym closed.
Oh, and the best part...on one of the leg machines, when I first starting going to the gym, I had to squeeze my legs in, they were too fat for the machine. In 11 months time I have gone from that to about a 2 inch gap between my legs and it is set to the lowest setting. BOY was that an ego boost!

I haven't posted my burn this week, but it's not fabulous. I've really gotten out of the habit of working out regularly and the snow and cold isn't helping. I have, however, been pretty decent about working bits of untracked exercise into my days. I probably burned my modest goal just between that and my less-than-sedentary lifestyle, but it would really be better if i started getting some actual heart-pumping cardio in again.

Didi--great job!! Keep up the great work!

Veekore--you're doing awesome--with all your exercise, your range is great! (1200-1300 is probably too low, really.)

Amanda--since I'm giving unsolicited advice. . . don't even think of beating yourself up for being in the 1600s! With all that exercise, you should probably be at 2,000--and you'd still be losing. Don't forget my old history lesson. . . when I was already at "ideal" weight, I was losing by eating around 1600--BUT I was only burning 800 cals/week!!--You're burning that in just over a day!! You must be in awesome shape right now!! Safe to assume you're feeling good and all the funky heart/breathing stuff is under control?--looks like you are seriously making up for lost time.

Kris--you're fine too. Remember your old calorie averages? You did fine much higher than your average is now. No sweat.

Um. . . can we focus on my nice low day today and pretend to not see the HUGE adjustment after my post for yesterday? A small handful of pistachios turned into a spoonful of peanut butter. . . which turned into FOUR spoonfuls of peanut butter. . .which led to a double serving of cheddar nut chips. . . which led to a small bowl of cereal. . And I had spent a large part of yesterday patting myself on the back for turning a corner and getting back to consistency. Hah--the arrogance!

But per my new mantra--I'm shaking it off. Another good day tomorrow will get my weekly average into range.
